Actually Satisfied with How We Looked Offensively

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by Falco21, Aug 14, 2015.

  1. Haven't seen the game yet outside of a few highlights. I know the WRs had a lot of drops, I was wondering if Shaq had any? I saw he only had one reception but it was a nice little play. I haven't heard anyone mention him at all so I'm assuming he must've had one just like the entire rest of the 2nd string WRs

What was so special about the offense that made you satisfied? They were as vanilla as it gets. The next 2 games, especially the Giants game will be a better barometer.

Surprised no one has mentioned this yet,

James Carpenter looked really good for us.

    - I love the spread.. absolutely love the spread.

    - Ivory is a mad man.. like.. can we just stop playing with this guy's emotions and feed him the damn rock!!!!! like non-stop! bilal can be a nice switch up.. we don't need ridley and stacy TBH..but they cheap so whatever. I'd love to see Ivory get the Demarco amount of carries from last year i bet he can crack 1,500 easy.

    - O-Line got that push! ngata wasn't playing though i don't think.

    - Can't really say much about the pass game yet but it looks like Chan's system is at least organized and gives the QB some options! not just the same old one read bullshit.

Facts! take the top off and make it impossible to double down on Marshall or Deck without getting burned up top.. But Fitz's arm strength is questionable

What's the purpose of having Cumberland on the squad? Is he a great blocker?

Cumberland misses as many blocks as he has drops.

I think the first offense looked pretty good. The o-line looks better this year and Marshall should have a big impact on the passing game.

Got a chance to finally sit down and watch it..
    1. Too many dropped passes. Notably a few on 3rd downs.
    2. We concentrated on getting our running game up & running.
    3. No screens?
    4. Missed open field tackles and all seemed just from being lazy!
Now it feels as if this team is just going through motions but I think (think means hoping) that we get that Hunger and punch you in the mouth mentality (No Pun) by PS game 3.

So far, nothing to be impressed by and actually was let down by the lack of effort.

There were some good plays by individuals later on .
    1. Both Powell's looked fast and charged.
    2. I think Kerley will be better. Not worried. (Again think means...)
    3. Marcus Williams looks like he is ready to play. I see him in that Nickle spot we've been missing since Ray Mickens. His head was always in the right spot. *On a Psychological note...seeing a #20 out there with dreads made me nervous..lol
    4. Petty will be fine I think (notice a think pattern?)
It's preseason, New Sytems, Personnel .. Timing Trust so many Variables to consider..
    We'll be ok..... I think

I'm curious...why do you care about Rumph? Do you know him? Go to the same school? Do you think he has a shot to make the team?

Nah, can't be! At least according to some of our posters, he sucks. LOL

Seriously, I'm glad to hear that. I didn't get to see the game. I trust Mac that he will be good.

Now can we say the same with GeNO? He sucks half the time - so there's already 50% improvement right there. [Going from 50% to 75% IS 50% improvement.]

He may make the practice squad.

I thought the starting offensive line played very well, which was encouraging. Seems we have potential for a very strong running attack.

Fitz+Petty = Highest IQ in backfield we have had in years.

As I said before, if we lose prob won't be on dumb.

Fitz can win us some games and Petty will be a fast learner.

    Hopefully a future here:)
