I understand that line of thinking, big time. Just saying I am happy its not the other way. When I referred to the "alternative narrative" its in Buffalo where the QBs have looked SO bad that the beat reporters are fighting with fans on twitter. on the constant reporting of incomplete and intercepted passes.. fans berading them with variations of: : "why do you only report the bad?" "It is really, really, really simple. If players do good things, I say so. When they do not so good things, I say so." and EJ manuel specifically? "[Manuel] hasn't done a lot to be positive about. When he does, I tweet it. Very simple." Buffalo's own GM offered up his own glowing assessment on the position: "We're almost in QB purgatory here and we're good enough that we won't be picking first or second overall...." OUCH Seriously though, I know this is off topic but following the Bills camp is just hilarious. tweets like this today..: "positive news from bills camp. the offense finally completed their first pass of 15+ yards of camp today." and Rex Ryan begins with press conference talking about Ronda Rousey. holy shit, I'll take our situation as fans right now
Skrine breaks up pass from Geno to Shaq, Shaq goes down looks like his wrist but he's back out there catching passes already Jeff Cumberland bobbles a pass in 7-on-7 after dropping one in QB-TE drill earlier. He caught this latest one.
Another really nice pass from Geno, 25 yards downfield beautifully placed back shoulder to Amaro with a nice grab
Honestly, if you put Geno Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tyrod Taylor, EJ Manuel and Matt Cassell in front of me and said "pick 2", there's a strong chance I would pick Geno and Fitz.
Can't ignore JJ, he just keeps making plays. Petty to Wes Saxton down the seam...Jarrett pops him and strips the ball loose. JJ has been physical in camp.
I remember that game against the Steelers when we came into the week having 3 takeaways in 9 games and then Jarrett himself had 3 takeaways in one day. He has potential, I like him in a reserve role.
Jets went starters versus starters. Mauldin again was in with the first-team D. Ivory running hard. Hitting is picking up. Campers screaming in the stands. Good atmosphere. Leonard Williams gets good penetration to bring down Bilal Powell.
There he goes again. Jarrett is out here smacking people. Comes flying in from S spot to put a huge pop on Enunwa.
That's actually either really concerning or promising. Our short run defense has been PHENOMENAL the last 2 seasons. So many goal line and 3rd/4th and short plays that got absolutely stuffed. Hoping it's more of a step forward for the O than a step back for the D, or just a 1 day aberration.
If our offense can do that to this defense that's only good news. And that'll do it. Short practice today but it did include plenty of physical stuff. 1st team O looked good...especially on goal line. Geno sharp. Maybe his best practice of camp. Not so much for Fitzpatrick today. Geno Smith-led offense scores on 3 straight goal-line plays vs starting defense. Two runs by Ivory, one by Powell. Changing times?
Sheldon, Snacks and Leonard were the 3 first team linemen for those plays, but it's just one practice I guess
