Can't really disagree with anything he said. There aren't too many true NT's around anymore and to me he's the best when it comes to clogging up the middle and stopping the run. He seems really motivated and we'll probably see his best football this year since he's in a contract year. Doubt we'll re-sign him. He'll probably make the Pro Bowl and get a big payday, not here though.

It's easy to look good between two pro-bowl ends. He's no slouch, but best is a stretch.

Mo and Sheldon benefit just as much from Snacks as he does from them.

If we a dumb enough to lose Snacks you can better believe that we will miss him when he is gone.

I think he'll for sure be the odd man out on the d-line. We can't pay all four of them, he's the only one that can't move around the line.. he's damn good though and his statement might be true about him being the best.. especially if he feels that way he's gonna want "best" money.. im sure Revis told him to use that strategy lol.

Meh. We did okay with Mike DeVito not so long ago. Its a team game. You can't have guys at every position on D thinking they're entitled to all-pro type pay. Even if its true.

sure why not.. unless... i'd rather try to mold him into one .. he'd have to gain about 25-30 pounds though lol. Now after i put it that way maybe it won't be the best idea. Kinda wish we kept Kendrick Ellis : /

He's easier to replace when you think of the other players on our D-line. The way things are looking with Sheldon, maybe we can retain both Wilkerson and Snacks.

Been saying for a while now, this is his last season w/ the Jets. Either we find a way to replace him, or go 4-3 on the base D.

Me too. I don't believe the giants gave him all that much.

Mo and Sheldon on the interior. Bowles will no doubt go to a 4 man front more often, unless we find a way to get a replacement.

Snacks can only stop the run anyway, he has no contribution on passing downs, otherwise we would've forgotten about the days of having Kris Jenkins tear it up for 4 games a season.

Hell no. No way in hell he starts at NT. Would be the biggest waste of a #6 pick in NFL history. The whole idea is to take up multiple blocker and stuff the run which Snacks (UDFA) does really well. You do not put a premier (at least in college) defensive end/defensive tackle at NT.. EVER. If Snacks departs next year we should look at going with a primarily 4-3 look with Mo-Sheldon-Williams-Coples. If we decide to stick with primarily 3-4 Barnes, Simon, or some FA could fill in.

^^Right. Snacks is basically a run stuffing NT, that only played 47% of the snaps, I believe.
Mo, Sheldon, Cat, and even Coples can play more than one position and are all versatile. Expect to see some 4 man fronts.

Things are always changing tho. If Sheldon smokes his ass off of the team Snacks becomes more important.

A lot changes quickly now. Next year is long way from now.

There's pretty much no way we're keeping him IMO.
