Who's busting on your Syracuse players? Not me. I just stated the same thing that you did, that taking Moore cost us Favre in the following draft. I liked Moore, but would rather have had Favre.
This was I believe his third drug offense and was going to be dismissed from team. How does a guy with the munchies need to add weight? You would have to keep him on your roster for a year because if he shows any promise someone would snatch him off practice squad so I am torn. To me this is the guy who would drop on draft day. I might consider a 5th but would probably prefer to pass. He would really have to handle the explanation part a lot better.
we lost out on favre b/c of one spot ahead of us. we could have moved up, we didn't so I don't think it is fair to say moore cost us favre. We could have had both and should have had both.
If you are correct, then I would think that there is zero chance of the Jets taking him after what happened with Richardson.
Ron Wolf said the Jets tried to trade up a slot ahead of the Falcons and had a deal in place with the Cardinals but it fell through when Mike Jones fell to them
Rob Moore 100% cost us Brett Favre. He was the number 1 player on our board, Wolf had a deal to make the trade to jump ahead of the Falcons (the only team he believed had real interest in Favre) and the Cards backed out right before they picked. To suggest we could have made any other trade up to get Favre is revisionist history. If we had a first round pick that year (which Moore cost us), we take Favre. Since we didn't, Wolf figured out the perfect strategy to get him in the 2nd round, but that strategy blew up on him. Sure anyone could hypothetically trade anything for any player, but if you look back at what actually happened, Moore cost us Favre. _
we were only able to trade w/ one team? if we wanted him that bad and thought he was going to be a top player you do anything you can to make a deal. he fell to round 2. if we were 100% going to take him in round 1 if we had the pick then you find a way into rd 1 to make that deal. Rob Moore did not cost us Brett Favre.
I'm surprised the Cowboys didn't take him. He would have fit nicely with the culture they're building down there.
