I could care less about Rex at this point ,its the past I just don't like how people are already saying Bowles is better then Rex at everything without seeing anything on the field yet.Its ridiculous ,And if you don't think Woody Johnson expects this team to make the playoffs this year after spending a ton of money in free agency your crazy. If we don't make the playoffs it will be a massive dissapointment for a lot of people,With the talent we have on this team now we have every reason to belive we should be a playoff team.If we can't get it done with this roster even without a top qb then what will it take.We have a playoff roster with question marks at QB so how are the expectations not playoffs.I was saying I wanted Bowles to be the coach the day we fired Rex but Its a little ridiclous to compare the John Idzik/Rex era to the new regime and talk about how much greater it is in May
How about we have a little exercise in football history. Let's stack the VLT's won by discipline minded HC's against those won by players coaches.... I love Rex, but...he (much like Beli) needed to grow a little more into the job.
I would love to hear Antonio Cromartie's take on this since he's the only one that already played for both coaches
Yes tons of money were spent in free agency. I think if Fitz didn't break his leg I would be wildly optimistic about playoffs. Can someone comment on how QBs do after broken legs? I really want him to beat out Smith but can't see him lighting it up unless he grows a bionic leg so this goes down to the wire IMO
Anyone saying if we don't make the playoffs is a disappointment is going to be let down we are coming off a 4 win season and still have no qb I don't care how hood our roster is if Geno is throwing ints every game we aren't going to win games
Need to see who Pletcher is going to have running, he has a couple of horses he kept out of the Preakness to have them ready for Belmont, besides Espinoza sucks at Belmont.
There should be every expectation for our coach to get this team to the playoffs given how much money our GM spent in the offseason. We made the playoffs and nearly the Super Bowl two straight years with Sanchez at QB, no reason why we should be content with an 8-8 season or whatever
I'm sorry but until I see Geno do something I don't see us winning alot of games with him Hopefully Fitz starts
Lets see the adjustments live in game when we are down and when we are up next year I agree with all sentiments of those ideas. Rex is the past i agree and we should support the now and care less about what is out of our control. But the constant attacks on optimism on this board is laughable. So many Debbie downers on this board the ignore function is being used more and more as they're retarded rhetoric is falling on deaf ears; so might as well make them not take up space. I'm all about back and fourth debates but sometimes....just sometimes i actually have to ignore
Where exactly does he say 'Rex insisted we get rid of ' smart veteran leaders? Really, they, Tanny and Rex & Co., did a lousy job of replacing guys like Tony Richardson and Damien Woody, and other older veterans, and filling the back end of the roster. They tried to tweak the team to get over the hump, they just failed.
Other, former Jets coaches who "couldn't be more different than Rex": That article scares me more than anything else! Saying someone "couldn't be more different than Rex" is NOT a good thing!
