Of course you make that bold statement based on one draft pick with the hands down BPA if not best in the draft still on the board. I would give the front office much more credit than that...
Well, he's a weakside linebacker safety convert... that's the same thing Shaq Thompson is. Where are they going to play him?
Good question. I am totally dumbfounded as to why they reached for Thompson. I've never liked Gettleman, and the Thompson pick just solidified my opinion of him.
I don't really follow the Panthers so I'm not up on the issues Cam has, but I find it hard to believe that with the run they went on last year that they'd let Cam walk without a bona fide guy to replace him. I have never wanted to be more wrong.
I'm certain that the Panthers will do everything they can to keep him. I was shocked to see that Cam supposedly isn't happy with the Panthers FO and maybe Rivera. That was the first I've heard of it. I will be as surprised as anyone if he were to force an exit or refuse to re-sign, but it could be the answer to our prayers. At this point, I have more hopes for that to happen than I do Connor Cook or any of the schlub QBs who will be in the next 2-3 drafts to be worth a darn and the Jets actually have a chance to draft them. With all the talent the Jets have on D now, if Bowles is any kind of HC at all, the team will probably be at least 7-9 this season, if not 8-8 or 9-7. Without a QB or some young fast playmakers or better OL, I don't expect them to be able to take the next step up, but be perennially mediocre, and struggling to remain even at that level. If Mac doesn't add any offensive playmakers or OL help with the #2 & #3 picks, then all bets are off for even that good, but again the D will probably be good enough to get them 5-6 wins even if Geno is worse than ever before.
I'm thinking we're going O in the next 2 rounds , but maybe a LB, who knows? I can't believe we are not going to address the O line , I think that's a desperate need Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Agreed. I hope the next 2 picks will be either an OT (Fisher?) and WR or WR and RB. I won't be surprised if it's an OLB and a CB, however.
I love Cam as a player, but not for my team lol. Way too inconsistent throwing the ball on all routes. This is a passing league remember? On another note call me whatever you want but if we don't get Christian Hackenberg in next year's draft then I buy a spot on a billboard and buy some (not just 1) remote control airplanes, and look out...QQ
You realize of course, that Mettenberger was drafted in the 6th round and he still hasn't won a game in the NFL. And you want to give up a 4th for this guy?
Steve, I read an article in one of my local papers that intimated that Carolina was set to take Collins in the first round, and when he pulled out of the draft, it left them floundering. Maybe that's why they didn't take Fisher.
Bryce Petty is the future of the Jets. He will win the Super Bowl and when people who obsess about the draft (like the ones in this forum) start to realize it they will act like nobody could have ever predicted it. Mock drafts and all that nonsense
I like Newton's game, more now than when he started, but before we even get to that, it has been so frustrating looking at every single possible option for the Jets getting a better Qb (than broken legged Fitz, of course) to replace Smith, and none of them come to anything. Something tells me this is not going anywhere, either.
Going to be very interesting a year from now which teams will be in the QB market. Chicago and Houston will most definitely be in the mix.
