I was at the game on sunday and i was very dissapointed with a couple peoples playing. 1. mccareins played attrocious he dropped 2 balls, one in which was a first down. 2. Pennington has no arm strength what so ever. There were 3 or 4 balls that should have been picked. Thank god will allen cant catch. That last td to coles was all coles. It was such a bad ball. There were also occasions where players were open but he couldnt make the throw, i recall one thathe had an open player down the sideline 25-30 yd pass no one near him, the guy would have been tackled at the 5 yd line instead he throws it out of bounds. As well as he played in his first 2 games he is not very good. also vilma has not been playin well in this 3-4 defense he is getting owned by blockers and he along with everyone was missing tackle sry if my typing is messed up something is wrong with my laptop and the text like jumps all over the place
Granted I wasn't at the game but the last throw didn't look horrible. He put it in a place where Coles could make a play. But since you were at the game, quick question.. They mentioned on TV that a lot of people left the stadium when we got up 20-3... I was just wondering how empty it actually got by the end?
It got pretty empty, I don't understand why. I mean, maybe if it was a non-division game, but since it was Miami I couldn't believe how empty it got. I'd estimate and say 1/3 of the peopel left once we got up 20-3.
i stayed until they walked off the field im sorry but i dont trust the jets never have never will i mean i love them and i have been going to the games since i could walk but they always seem to have a way to mess things up
But yet on that crucial 3rd and 2 at our 40 we called a deep pass to the right to McCareins which not surprisingly fell incomplete because he got his feet tangled up and fell flat on his face. At the time I felt that 3rd down was going to decide the whether or not we were going to OT or lose the game because I had no confidence in our defense holding. Thank God I was wrong but that play was a real head scratcher. I hope Mangini and Schottenheimer realize that when the game is on the line don't call on 81.
We don't even need Newhouse: Coles Cotchery Dwight Brad Smith (although I think he should be ahead of Dwight) We really don't use any 5-Wide sets anyway, so no need to keep 5 on the roster.
Bad BALL!? Are you kidding. Pennington saw the flag and new he had to throw it up, so he put it in a place Coles had a chance to get it! Coles was open on one play on the sideline, and YES, he did over throw him. Pennington was not great Sunday but he was not bad. He got us into the end zone when it counts. He also is the one that got us out of the quick slant and sent Coles streaking down the sideline, and hit him perfect for the first Coles TD.
I wasnt very happy with most of the fans at the game. At the begininning of the game-at least in my section-noone was watching the game, just getting into fights with the dolphins jerseys. Then everyone left early. It never really got loud and Ed did jis J-E-T-S thing at horrible times.
While I agree that Pennington has no arm strength, that has been established for a while now IMO that last throw to Coles was the best throw he made all day/. What I wanna know is, what happened from that throw he made across hashmarks in tennessee to now. Geez man. Idk man
Yeah there was one throw where he threw it out of bounds where there was an illegal contact penalty i believe, that throw was distrubing, and another throw where Coles got behind the defense on the sidelines and Chad threw it out of bounds. That was didnt really distrub be because the zip was there but the accuracy was the problem
yeah I know, he just threw it out of bounds, it was an inaccurate throw, but the velocity was far from the problem
Some fans left early so they could get home and watch the Raiders get crushed again. That's almost as much fun.
I was at the game as well. I agree with all these points and the agree with those who thought the fans were lame. That was as tame as a Jets/Dolphins game as I have ever been to and I was disappointed with the team and the fans. Granted the first half was a snoozer and kept the fans quiet, but at the start of the game the place was half empty and totally quiet. It was my first home game in awhile (don't live on east coast any more) and was surprised how little everyone cares. I still had a good time, the people around me were cool and good at cracking jokes, but I missed the rowdiness. Are we getting soft or are we already bored with this team? About the team... I thought they were playing Pennington like he was hurt. We didn't take many shots downfield. We threw so many passes that could have went for touchdowns the other way with those backward passes or short sideline passes. It wasn't windy but we called plays like there was a hurricane going on. Every time I paid attention to what Vilma was doing he was getting crushed. I didn't pay attention every play, so he may have done better than it appeared to me. Anyway, it's still fun and I am excited for the future with this team. And how about BRAD SMITH!! That guy made more tackles than most of the team. Let him be a pass rusher.
