There is one and only one ideal scenario for me (football wise). At the end of the night we have Marcus Mariota and we march into a new era of New York Jets football. _
Maybe. But not all the situations are the same. I dont see a top 6 offensive lineman in this draft. I think the best is Peat, and that would be a bit of a reach in the first. Obviously Ferguson/Mangold would be a killer blow, but I dont see much top 5 OL talent. Jets were 8th in sacks last year with the worst secondary in football. Pace gets injured, I think IK can fill in and be serviceable. With the Jets DL and secondary, getting to the QB shouldnt be an issue. With Geno or Fitzpatrick as the QB, Marshall/Decker/Kerley is not enough. Marshall is 30 and Decker was hurt last year. If one of these guys goes down, Jets are back to one of the worst receiving groups in the NFL. If we want Geno to play even mediocre ball, the offense needs to be stacked around him.
The ideal scenario is that every pick we make is all pro in their rookie season. All I pray is we don't F#CK up this draft ala Idzik.
So here is a good story, Kevin White is from Plainfield and Ray Rice went to Rutgers so almost neighbors. We draft White and sign Rice to a vet minimum contract and never look back..even fuckin Geno Smith could be successful with those two in the lineup.
Lets suppose your livelihood, the job you have to feed youself, wife and kids was somehow by some strange quirk attached to Mac and Bowles performance as managers. How would you feel about Geno and Fitz? In addition, knowing Smith has been bad the last two years do you want to rely on him going forward? Its no longer hindsight, its draft day. IMO Carr and Bridgewater had good starts in the NFL. JGarappolo has to sit because of Brady. Two out of three are hardly "unproven". When reality comes a knockin you realize that these are real decisions not TGG
what good is WR if mangold or brick go down and our already crappy qbs face even more pressure? WR is the least important of QB-Line-WR edit: this comes off as criticism, im just playing devils advocate with you. id be fine with WR as the pick
My ideal scenario is the San Diego Chargers trade us Phil Rivers and their 1st and second this year, and 1st next year to move up and select Mariotta, we then select Gurley or White at the 17 spot (0 chance White is available).
well, with QB sure, thats not always an option. you can trade down and get lineman if your up to high and one isnt there
I cant see that happening. mostly because mariotta isnt gauranteed to be there at 6, and i doubt tennesee would turn down that same package for the #2 selection
Ideal scenario, we take an impact player at 6 or get crazy offer to trade down. The Jets need to makes their picks this year and next.
compelling reason to go WR, really we can go either way with OLB or WR in the 1st and 2nd. my gut is telling me its White or Gurley for some reason though….
