We blew it last year by getting Pryor, then the year before by getting Milliner. The same people who use the wait and see approach on these two busts are the same people who kept believing Gholston would get better with time. It is a crap shoot, but we need to take a chance on offense where we suck big time.

    Mariota
    Cooper
    Scherff
    White
    Gurley

These are my ideal picks in that order whether we trade up or down.

Interesting that Mayock had the Jets trading up to take Mariota in his final mock and then changed it on the air because he heard they are now trying to trade down. I hope we don't have another ball less GM here.

Pryor and Gholston were picks made my former GMs. Taking Gurley anywhere near 6 with our offensive line in shams (yes our tackle situation is bad and if Brick declines even more this year we aren't going to competitive) would be a huge mistake.

My ideal scenario is to trade back with New Orleans and pick up a second rounder.

    1. Gurley
    2a. DGB or Dorsett
    2b. AJ Cann
    3. Another olineman.

Trade the 4th to Tampa and get Glennon.

We would come away with a totally new and upgraded offense.

I think its early too. But QB is the biggest need and if they have a high rating on one of the 3,4,5 guys like Greyson or Petty you pull the trigger rather than risk losing him.

Trade down, get more talent, I want an olineman, OLB and a WR out of this draft

    Mariota falls to 6.

If he's not there, trade back and get more picks.

Sorry but my ears cant believe what I am hearing.

"Grab Mariotta at 6 and then trade him for...."

Its like a feeding frenzy of impulsive decisions.

We simply need to get MM on board by trading up, down or sideways. If Ten just grabs him and says no to our offers you get the best offensive player available at 6. Personally, the fact that the Browns are in the news to trade at 2 means maybe Mac has a better carrot to offer Ten and Mayock is smokescreening a tradedown.

I'm reading a lot of the "experts" like Mannion and he may not go until the 3rd or 4th round. (and he is 6'6")

I have attached a link below that talks about drafting QB's in each round. I found it incredibly interesting.

We suck more at getting to the QB than we do at any position on offense minus QB. Taking a top tier pass rusher makes just as much sense as taking any offensive player on the board not named Marcus or Jameis at 6.

The dream scenario for me would be Mariota dropping and then trading the pick for the 2 Browns picks and picking up Gurley and Peat or Flowers along with DGB in round 2 or Shane Ray in round 2.

    Draft Beasley at 6.

DGB falls to us in round 2 and we take him.

    I pray this happens:

    6:Fowler
    37:Ray
    70:Beckham
    104:QB

or trade down a few spots and grab a second:

    1st-Gurley
    2nd-Gregory?(drops?)
    2nd-Ray
    3rd-Beckham

all I know is this team should be insanely improved after this draft, in Mac we trust

    Well there are three possibilities:
    1) We trade up
    2) We trade down
    3) We pick at 6th

For #1 I think it's already a fail because I don't like the idea of trading up, especially for what it will cost to get to the second overall pick. But I wouldn't be against trading up to the #4 spot to grab the best pass rusher before the Redskins can take them. So, for example, if the top three go Winston, Mariota, Williams and Fowler is still on the board I wouldn't be against moving up a few picks (depending on the cost of course) and grabbing Fowler. It works for Oakland because they get an additional pick and can guarantee that at least one if not both (Redskins probably take Beasley in that scenario) of White or Cooper will be available for them to pick at 6th. Again, it depends on the cost and I'm too lazy to check the chart but if it's nothing too prohibitive and the FO likes Fowler then I say do it.

For #2 I wouldn't want to trade further than the Saint's 13th overall pick. If we trade back to that spot I would like to grab the best OT available. It's not a sexy pick but it's necessary. If that's too much of a reach and either Devante Parker or Gurley are available they might be worth a look.

For #3 I would ideally like to see either Fowler or Mariota fall to us but I don't see either of those things happening so if we stay at 6th I would like to either get Cooper or White if we go offence or Beasley if we go OLB. Now, if we do go one I would like to get the best available of the other with our second rounder. I know they say they aren't drafting for need but I would be happy with WR/OLB or OLB/WR.

I think it's soon to pronounce Pryor a bust a la Kyle Wilson. Let's see how he responds to the new coaches.
To answer the question, is that Mariota is picked by someone else other than the Jets. I'm not convinced that he's anybody saviour. I think he'll be a solid, but not a franchise QB.
If anything I'd love to see Winston fall to two and see if the Jets could land him. But that's not going to happen and the price would be too much.
The key to what the Jets do, is what Oakland does. Everyone says Cooper. If that's the case,I want White.
    And vice-versa.
But here's the thing, if Williams still on the board, do the Jets take him?
I say yes and watch Mo's leverage shrink. Drafting Williams would probably create the best D-like the Jets have had since the Sack Exchange.
By the way, it would not surprise me if the Jets draft Gurley.
For the amount of hype he's gotten, I'm shocked he's not considered a Top 10 prospect.
His medicals have checked out, enough so that he's a Top 20 on some team's boards.
    So why not Top 10?
I say be bold and go for it.

Right now, assuming QB isnt an option, I think WR is the pick.

If we arent going to get a better QB, we need to load up the current QB with as much talent as possible.

We are a Brandon Marshall injury away from being the same below average WR group as last year.

I'm rolling with Cooper or White

we are 1 LB injury away from having a pop warner type group

we are 1 fergson/mangold injury away from having turnstyles all over the dline

id be fine taking a WR, but the logic that "if this guy gets injured we are screwed" applies to most positions
