We aren't getting Mariota unless we trade up to get him,he isn't falling to 6 so I don't really have an ideal scenario.I'm honestly not sure what's gonna happen but I do think we will draft one of these guys Kevin White WR Amari Cooper WR Andrus Peat OL Todd Gurley RB(if we move down) Shane Ray DL (doubtful)
Trade with New Orleans. Our 6th for their 13th and 44th picks. NO selects an outside linebacker. Jets select Todd Gurley with the 13th, denying the Dolphins their guy and getting the best offensive weapon in the draft. With the 37th pick the Jets select Garrett Greyson as their QB for 2016. With NO's 44th pick they select either OLB's Nate Orchard or Eli Harold.
I'd love cooper in the first and then to address the OL with a few picks. Our OL isn't the youngest. So if we address that and geno/fitz have cooper or even white paired with marshall, decker, amaro and a solid running game I think we'll be in great shape.
I think that Mac would love to get Gurley in the teens but could take him at #6. He's that good and that much better than these other guys.
Definitely a trade down... I'd like a potential starting caliber OT, an explosive RB and WR, and a potential impact pass-rusher. Let's go with the the NO trade down and acquire 1(13) and 2(44) 1. Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford 2a. Eli Harold, OLB, Virginia 2b. Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska 3. Tyler Lockett, WR, Kansas St 4. Tyler Kroft, TE, Rutgers
I said realistic. Obviously unrealistic would be jameis or mariota. Drafting an OL seemed to work for Dallas last year no? Plus I said that would be accompanied with a trade down.
I say we go WE/OLB 1-2 For instance if we get cooper round one I think Shane Ray or Eli Harold round 2 We draft fowler round 1 we go DGB or jalen strong round 2
My ideal scenario is Mariota falls to #6 ... and we trade the #6 to San Diego for Rivers and some throw-ins. Chance of this happening? Less than 1%.
I'd love Fowler to fall but I can't see it happening. I've watched highlights on the YouTube and I really think that Vic Beasley can be brilliant. He knows how to get at the QB and I'd be over the moon if he walked out onto that stage, Jets cap in hand
