I know it has been said the Tenn guys are high on Mettenberger, but are they really? How high? The logic is how high do they think he can take them, because if they really think he could be top fifteen in the league, then yeah the Tits could come out of this with Wilkerson and a sixth pick in the draft, both of whom would likely become quality starters for them. As a Jet fan, though, this sounds just too good to be true. Its probably just me adhering to that old hoary principle hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
Homers and fans sick of crappy, low iq running qb's (locker, vy) like Mett but the coaching staff/mngt are not that high on Mett, that's why they're taking Mariota. It's been obvious for awhile now. Just listen to the things Whisenhunt and Webster have said about MM, they want him. Sure, could be a huge smokescreen but they've gone out of their way to talk about Mariota, unprompted. We're not getting Mariota unless we give them an rg3 type deal. Might as well start looking forward to 2016's inferior qb's.
From what I've read, TEN desperately want to trade down but are "high enough" on Mariota to pick him at 2 if they can't get any suitors. That seems like a terrible way to go about deploying the 2nd overall pick in the draft. You should either believe the guy could be a future franchise guy or not. It almost feels like they would draft Mariota more so to prevent anyone else from getting him.
He's under team control for what another year plus the Franchise Tag is an option. This isn't a Revis like situation.
the pick that i think will be the most intriguing is 3 honestly as i think Tennessee will stay put. if the jaguars select amari cooper (which i've been saying for a while), i'd be nervous as the raiders could panic and select kevin white instead of leonard williams. then i'll be super nervous for what the jets do at 6
Do u know how much the FT is on a DT? It's over 20m that's why the Lions couldn't do it on Suh! We have one year of Mo left... We would be wise to trade him while he has value...
Suh was under the old CBA, his FT was large because he was on a huge deal being the #2 pick in the 2010 Draft
It's still going to be an outrageous price for a DT.. Even at 16 mil we can't do it... If he signs long term for 2 mil a year less than JJ than fine.. If not trade him while we can because he just saw how nice Suh just got paid..
