Andy Reid and Bruce Arians have shown us the way. The Jets would've made it to the Super Bowl in 2010 with Buttfumbles at QB if they hadn't shown up 'flat' in the first half of the AFC Championship game. Play solid TEAM football, get competent NFL QB play ya never know.
That many "lotsa"s sounds more to me like sustained success and not just a couple of flash seasons but maybe I am misinterpreting your use of overused slang adjectives.
I'm not sure I can get with that. I don't think the Jets had SB talent, especially on offense. Rex took the team further than its talent really should have taken it. Rex is a great motivator, but motivation isn't a substitute for elite talent.
I hear ya, but the number of zeros on a pay stub doesn't change the DNA of young men away on their own for the first time. Only time, trial by fire, and years of experience can do that (it's call growing up). This is why a veteran presence in the locker room is so important. Can you imagine a locker room full of 20 yr old millionaires?
It sounds like personal accountability is a big theme for Bowles, especially in light of Amaro's recent remarks. At this point, anything Bowles brings to the team is lip service, but I like that he appears to be telling the players that success depends upon them and that they have to be accountable for their play. He's going to have his own strengths and faults, and I'm sure we'll be praising and bitching about him soon enough. Regardless of what Rex says, his teams lacked accountability because Rex took the blame for everything. How many times did Rex lament turnovers, penalties, mental mistakes, poor clock management, misuse of timeouts, and sideline gaffs while promising "I take full responsibility for that and you can bet your ass we're gonna get that fixed." Problem is, IT NEVER GOT FIXED! I loved Rex's bravado and his players played hard for him, but fucking Willie Colon's false starts, blown assignments, and boneheaded sideline plays killed Rex's credibility, making the team look undisciplined and sloppy.
I LIKED those uniforms. At least they kinda described the team. What the Fuck does a football have to do with a Jet, unless it's laying on the ground with a player writhing next to it?
I think it was the color green in those uni's that was so off-putting IMO. Maybe the new logo with the original (and present) green would've been better.
The original version of those uni's is perfect. The next set with the black trim is what really sucks.
I just want a coach who knows how to well coach. I am not talking X's and O's more so know how to properly use timeouts, challenges, prepare for bye weeks etc. Clearly Rex struggled with all of these especially with out team coming out flat certain games. You could feel it and as a jets fan you could tell be a few drives the team didn't have that. Also would like to see growth out of our offensive players. I really can't name a guy who developed under Rex's regime on offense.
I no longer believe that at all. At best Rex was neutral to the talent level, but I think actually detracted from it with his in game management and other weaknesses
Different strokes for different folks. I like the Kelly green better than Forest green. Kelly green is brighter more positive. Forest green is drab and boring imo.
I favor the kelly green uni with our present logo on it. But I would'nt give a flying F$cK it was any other color if it bought a SB victory. After the SB victory the uni types can be argued till the cows come home.
