I'd love it too. Stranger things have happened. If Woody got a boner for Rivers and made it happen it would be the first time I'd be happy with Woody Coming out of this draft with a Rivers, Mariota or Winston would be a game changer for us. If they landed Rivers I'd be ecstatic, but, realistically am hopeful for Mariota or Winston still Tough to argue against FlaJet's link: http://thesportspost.com/blogs/view...rtspost (The Sports Post)#cGESZrxP6gqcA7U8.99
Let Rivers run down to the SD Bay and float off in the the deep blue sea. I want to see him in the blue and never in the Green.
And what makes you think Tennessee can't deal directly with San Diego in the first place? On top of that, will he like it here in NY? I was told he hated the idea of playing in LA.
horrible terrible trade that might cripple us the #6 PLUS another first for rivers? not a chance. id give a 2 and a 6 for rivers. or #6 for rivers and the chargers first
We can recoup some picks when we trade w/ SD....I am not sure Rivers would come to NY, but I would do my diligence to find out, looking at our team, we are ready to make a run now, Geno is a "bust" and Mariota may take 2-3 yrs to develop, so our future relies on Fitzpatrick or trade for a proven veteran.....
why settle for Phillip River? here's the trade we should do: Jets trade #6 pick along w/ 2016 #1 & maybe 2015 4th up to receive Titans #2 pick Jets trade #2 pick to SD for Rivers, 2015 4th rd & 2016 #1 pick Jet's turn around and trade Rivers to the Browns for their two 2015 # 1 picks. Jets turn around and trade the three 2015 first round picks to Green Bay for Aaron Rogers.
Just because we now have some older players doesn't mean that we're ready for a run. That's ridiculous, imo. We don't have the OL to make a run, we have a rookie HC and a new OC and offensive system, and there will be differences and adjustments for the D to make as well. We don't have any LBs who excel in coverage, and most of our starting LBs are ancient with little or no foot speed. In addition, we have a lot of new pieces to blend in.
people do realize that Pip is 34 this season and has, what, maybe 3 seasons left? that even with him the Chargers made the playoffs once in the last 5 years? this trade would be horrendous for the Jets - we need to draft a true franchise QB that we can build around for the next decade if we ever want to do anything as a franchise
I'm sure we can contrive a scenario where we have 5 first round picks to offer up for Rogers if we put our mind to it.
Have you been to the Draft Simulator thread in the Draft Forum? I've seen drafts where we get Mariota, Cooper and Fowler. Rogers would be easy. _
The draft simulator is amazing, it let me draft Winston, Mariota, Brady, Rodgers, Payton, Faulk, Taylor, Revis and seven future 1st round picks and all I needed to do was trade down from #6 to #23 in this year's draft.
