I followed McCown last year because I had him on my fantasy team. And althought his performances were inconsistent, he had several games throwing for more than 300 yards and 3TDs.

I'm more inclined to throw out his bad performances because of a lack of a running attack. Sure, he had two better receivers in Fitzergald and Boldin than he will have with the Jets, but he had absolutely no running game. JJ Arrington was the biggest bust in the draft last year-- a problem he won't have with Martin and Houston carrying the ball. With a balanced attack and better coaching(?), he might be the guy.

His arm is very strong, his feet and legs are fast, and he's fiery. How smart he is, nobody knows, but he's young and I believe he will make some GM look like a genius this year--hopefully ours.

Totally agree with you on this. I think McCown has the highest upside over anyone like Kitna, Ramsey, or Collins. He does have a big time arm.

He never really got a fair chance in AZ with Denny Green's love fest with Kurt Warner, he kind of got the shaft, as did Ramsey.

But McCown is my number one choice. He still has a high ceiling and has all the tools.

If we draft our future franchise QB, I think I would prefer Kitna over McCown to keep the seat warm along with Chad. I think he would be a better teacher and provide more experience than McCown, plus I believe his game is better. But by no means would I be disappointed with McCown unless the price was out of this world...
