Mangini just said Curtis is not coming off PUP until at least the Cleveland game is over.

yeah ive read some fluff pieces lately that have given me hope but I'm not expecting a thing to come out of this.

i just wanna see him in a uni 1 more time. just once.

then after that i want to see him holding a clipboard coaching our RB's and maybe even more some day.

I didn't think he would come off of it until then even if he did play. Wouldn't they give him a few weeks to practice and get back into game shape before rushing him back to play.

I don't think there is anything unusual here. HE would get activated just as we go into the bye week. Makes total sense. He still has to pass a physical, but the way they have planned it makes a lot of sense.

I will be in awe if I see Martin come back this year and make a difference, but if anybody can do it, he can.

Chad did it, any everybody said he was done for life. I was kinda chiming in to that I thought it was over for Chad, but much to my surprize Chad has been pretty darned good. Gotta root for the guy (Chad) and Curtis, too.

Thats got to be it. Bone on bone is no joke. As far as I know there is no medical procedure that would get him good enough to play .

Mangini said they selected that day, so then he could have 2 weeks of practice before the next game, so really, that first week, he can be practicing, and not effecting the game plan too much.

yea but chad doesnt have 10+ years of wear and tear on his knees..i think its a diffrent situation with curtis. is a OLD 33 he has alot of mileage on those knees.. and since its bone on bone thats hard for a running back to play on..i love cmart and like u said if anyone can do it he can.. but reality is starting to set in for me that may not even see the old curtis martin again. which really sucks.

Yeah, I know, how can you not love CM if you are a Jets fan? I hope he comes back. Bone on bone will be tough to deal with, even for CM.

yeah curtis is a no nonsense guy. not much animation to his words, but the quality of his words is what gets messages across other players wish they could convey.

hes a class act and has the kind of head on his shoulders I wish more people did.

and considering his specialty was making cuts and reads he is obviously a student of the game.

so when I said more, I meant beyond a RB coach. but I would LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE cant say that word enough, LOVE to see him on the Jet staff.

hes my favorite player of all time and always will be.

I'm hoping for the best for Curt the Warrior. Man, to see him play one more game. You really take for granted when you have it good.

I think this CS and FO are doing the right thing by making every effort to bring him back and giving him all the flexibility he needs. Hopefully it filters down to the players that they value the contributions of their great players.

As much as I love Curt, I'm also a little concerned for him, as much as for our RB situation; whatever happens for us, we'd need a new RB soon even if Martin somehow finds another year worth of gas in the tank (and Leon may be that back, but regardless...). But bone on bone in his 30s is gonna cause problems for him down the line, and I'm surprised he's been working so hard to come back at all. We love you, Curt, but it's time to pack it in. Remember that Al Toon still gets headaches and wakes up dizzy from all his concussions; it'd be a shame to see Curtis ruined by the game.

That said, nothing would make me happier than to see Curtis on the sidelines with a clipboard still a part of the Jets Organization for a good long time. And to see 28 up on the wall next to 12, 13, and 73 where it belongs when he does pack it in for good.
