    1 year, no terms disclosed.

He sucks. Hopefuly it's a training camp body with no guaranteed money. I remember him not being able to catch a damn ball with the Bears and not doing much of anything with the Lions.

Blocking tight end. Something we need.

Funny how you think he sucks. Shocker

"Davis was a starter during the latter part of his tenure with the Bears, and had an excellent season in 2011, accruing a +10.9 grade from Pro Football Focus (subscription required). All of that positive grade was due to his prowess in run-blocking, so perhaps that’s the role the Jets have envisioned for him."

If he sticks who do we lose in favor of him? Either suds or Cucumberland need to go. Whoever the loser is will immediately be heading to Buffalo. I kinda like Pantale, can we stash him on the PS anymore?

We definitely need a blocking TE, but I wonder if they contacted Ed Dickson of the Panthers. He's an excellent blocker and is a better receiver than Davis. He may have wanted more money. I haven't heard anything about him signing anywhere yet.

He was a legit TE. Just not much of a receiver. Not sure what he is now. Do they release cumberland now?

How does PFF rate Dickson? I saw him with the Ravens and with the Panthers the last season or two. He always looked pretty good to me.

Not sure. I don't have a subscription. I found that posted on an article. I'd be interested to know also

    Great signing!

*Waits for BakerMaker to rip the signing.*

Chris Baker was the Touchdown Maker. How many did he make? 15 in 9 years. Pretty good.

Good signing even if he gets cut. I think Mac might draft a tight end later on.

With the way the oline looks , having a blocking TE isnt the worst idea. Even if Davis isnt that guy its a no risk signing and a good direction to go in.

:D you are like a cartoon character now. hating on every signing for it's financial significance. Of course there will be no guaranteed money. It's probably for the league minimum.

This gimmick is old. Unless neither of you can read and it's not a gimmick.

We need a blocking tight end. I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's #3 while suds and Cumberland battle it out for essentially the same role.

He's alright as a no.3 TE, can't hate. He's Anthony Becht for the most part, stone hands but as a blocker...he's pretty good.
