I was at the game. A lot of paper airplanes. I saw one hit a little girl, six, maybe seven, in the eye. She cried and cried, then her parents had to take her home. Didn't seem all that funny to me.
I am so sick of the stupid paper airplanes. They can't even give out things to help the fans w/o fans being stupid and turning them into paper airplanes.
I saw Ben Graham get hit with a paper airplane right in the side of his head.. I could only imagine what he was thinking in his head.
You guys are too busy making airplanes and not cheering. For a 4:15 game the crowd sucked. There was only one J!E!T!S! chant after a TD and most fans left with smiles on thier faces early 4th Qtr. If the fans are content and think the game is over that early and leave, you expect the players to have a "killer Instintict"?
As a season ticketholder, I'm usually ashamed of the small minority of morons in the stands who prefer playing with toys like paper airplanes and beach balls over watching the plays. Even more appalling are the idiots who leave early, whether we're ahead or behind, especially when there's more than ample time for the game to still go either way. I'll never forget the infamous Dolphins game in which Wesley Walker caught the go-ahead score (the play unfolded right below my section) and we beat the Dolphins, after 2/3 of the stands emptied out. I was wearing earphones while watching the game and the radio announcer said fans were lined up at the turnstiles trying to get back in after they had left early in the 4th quarter. Of course, they were turned away and missed one of the greatest comebacks in Jets history. It was laughable because they're such losers it's pathetic. Here they are, in a drunken stupor, screaming at the security guards to let them back in. I'm SOOO glad they didn't!
I'll never forget the MNM game when like 70% of the fans left. I know most will never admit leaving, but my friend Anna (vinnyfan) and I were the only 2 left in my entire row. Come on people. But yeah, I am sick of these damn paper airplanes. My wife got pelted 2x last game by them, and I took one in the back of my head last night. It is dangerous and childish.
I'll never understand why someone would make the committment to go the game. Spend the money for tix & parking and then leave early? Would you go see a movie and leave before it ends?
It was a very strange game yesterday. Many of the regulars that I've been seeing for years were not present; in there place were a bunch of drunken kids. Not sure why, maybe last weeks embarassment took some of the wind out of the sails, not to mention 4:15 games suck in general. My section in particular which is normally pretty laid back was like a war zone. One guy was throwing peanuts at people, until another guy tried to beat his ass. Then as he's getting kicked out beer bottles started flying. There was a guy with two young girls sitting in the row in front of me, who were subjected to a million F bombs during the game. Very atypical, and very disappointing. I wish more people were there to enjoy the game. Oh well, they pay their money too.....
The crowd was also a lot quieter than in the last 2 home games... I guess we got sick of seeing late scores and our D look like swiss cheese.
I will admit that I left the MNF game early, but it was because of me the Jets won. Once I got in my car, the Jets started thier come back. To this day I feel embarrased that I left but I was frustated more than anything. I got the same feeling I believe it was in 1994 when Cowboys fans took over the stadium, and #31 (Don't remember the player) for DAL was exhorting the crowd to get louder on the kickoffs after DAL scored.
I like when people leave early, you can space out a bit with the empty seats and it makes getting out of the game that much easier. The previous 2 home games were about as loud as I've ever heard it for a "normal" regular season game and the defense still failed in every single big spot.
The fans were quiet and left early, granted, but I actually thought that the stadium crew was much to blame for taking us all right out of the game. We had some big-play scores, and for once, hot girls leading us to cheer, but everytime the Jets scored, instead of letting the crowd go nuts and leaving space for some J-E-T-S cheers, they started blasting music instead; and not the usual touch-down celebratory music right after the score, but I mean after the actual score, when usually we'd all be going nuts. Maybe if we were just louder we'd've not even heard the music, but it seemed like everytime I was about to stand up and start getting into it, the Vengaboys or some other horseshit came on the loudspeakers and drowned everybody out. That said, the kind of noise we made on defense was pathetic. Especially for a Fins game.
The one thing about those songs though is that the girls in the crowd start dancing when they come on, and there's nothing wrong with that. I was dancing myself a little, but it's not my fault, the Tequila was ordering me to.
We did have the return of the Pacman Graphic this game. That was the best in '04 especially at the Colts Playoff game. That Pacman was going off every 5 minutes. The best was the look on Fireman's Ed's face when he tried to start a defense chant but was drowned out by music.
I thought it was a weird crowd too. And so many people bolted when the Jets went up 20-3, that the crowd noise definitely suffered in the 4thQ. I can understand wanted to beat the traffic, but this is the Jets, they never make anything easy... and for the record, I saw that girl leaving with her parents and some security people. people were saying she got hit right in the eye by a big airplane. i have a daughter, and the look on that dad's face... broke my heart. imagine bringing your kid to a game and have some jackass ruin it...
i have a daughter, and the look on that dad's face... broke my heart. imagine bringing your kid to a game and have some jackass ruin it... Well said!
well....I stand guilty as charged, because there was this little thing I had to make sure I got home in time to catch...........the Met game....sorry but that's the priority right now.....
