I know I have said it before and it doesn't win games, but really like his approach and business like demeanor
Listening to it now (link) On Conference Calls like this, there is a lot of talking without much substance. With that said, it seems like he has a plan and is sticking to it - seems to know what he's talking about and is very involved in the personnel decisions
Talked about CBs and having depth at the position. Called DR one of the best in the game important pick up. Excited about Dee and Dex coming back. Comfortable with Geno and Fitz coming out... Sounds really excited about getting Bilal more touches this year. !!!
interesting.......Osi's visit was a social visit for 10 mins to say hello to Bowles. Wasn't a Free Agent visit but they are required to notify the league when someone visits
Agreed man. Love that he is guarded but it doesn't seem like he is giving the bullshit Mangini answers.
Lol, Osi wasn't there for a workout--he came to visit Bowles on a personal level and was not a scheduled meeting. McGag didn't know he was in the buiulding. LOL not spilling ANYTHING about Winston and Mariota and said "we really don't want to let the rest of the league know what we're doing" which brought some chuckles. Will Fitz preclude taking Mariota at 6? "No player is on or off our board based on the roster." Will go with the best player available. _
To me, Most interesting part was his take on Powell. Talented back that didn't get his chance last year. Will be interesting to see how he's used this season.
Not if they don't sign another RB, Sounded like he was going to give Powell a shot to make his case at least. IMO, he was unfairly thrown to the bottom of the depth chart last year. I liked what I saw from him way more then CJ2-gats.
We still need a speed complement. If anything Bilal might rotate with ivory. Still need to draft a pass catcher w speed for 3rd down or passing situations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
i caught that question at the very end, and loved that answer. The current roster will not affect their draft strategy, ie FA moves will not deter any early selection. makes perfect sense.....but then again i don't think any GM has ever admitted to taking the approach of need based drafting in early rounds. I think if anything prospects at a position of need might just get a slight uptick in their grading......a tiebreaker of sorts. and QB's are the one position all GMs are willing to reach for....graded on a curve for importance.
I was calling for this last season as the shit was hitting the fan. It made zero sense why MM couldn't find a role for this kid. Not particularly great at any one thing, he's just a versatile RB that excels at different roles. Dude, never complained about his lack of touches. I'm a big Powell fan...
