    AFC EAST
    1. Pats 4-1
    2. Jets 3-3
    3. Bills 2-4
    4. Fins 1-5

The Jets are only 1 1/2 games out of first, and with 2 easy games coming up and a bye, I can see the jets taking the AFCE lead if they can find a way to beat the Pats after the bye. That game will probably decide who will have sole position of the AFCE at that point.

I agree, we almost lost to Miami this week and we shouldnt be counting the Lions as a win. They have a good RB who I'm sure will go over 100 yards and Roy Williams who is a great playmaker.

Kevin Jones and Roy Williams don't look easy.

We can win all our games, but it wouldent matter if NE doesnt lose some too.

True we have two very winnable games but NE probably does too(Well I know they got Bufallo next, I dont know whos right after them).

There's something up with Detroit, and I don't know what it is. Don't let their record fool you... 1-5 is bad... but they're playing harder than a regular 1-5 team. Don't sell them short... play them as hard as we would Indy or NE

They have bene in some close ones(against Minn and GB noteably), which woulda made them a 3-3 team like us....they just couldent close the deal.

Teams the Jets have beat this year: Tennessee (1-5), Buffalo (2-4), Miami (1-5).

Teams that have beat the Jets this year: New England (4-1), Indianapolis (5-0), Jacksonville (3-2).

The only way the Jets take the AFC East this year is if the Pat's team plane goes down somewhere bad...

The point he is making is that we have a lot of those teams with bad records like Tennessee, buffalo, miami on our schedule.

Look if this team can manage 8-9 wins you have to be happy as hell. Let's be realistic people.

If we win 8 games I will consider Mangini's first season and the first year of rebuilding a total success. 9 games would be amazing.

Winning 5 or 6 games means we go into next year not sure if we're competing for a playoff spot yet or not. Winning 8 or 9 makes it clear that we're competing next year, especially if it's a solid season that does not include any weird streaky play.

thats like when the jets went 1-15....they were a much better team than their record indicated. (it was great to watch them beat the cards that year!) i think we have a great chance of beting the lions though. they're still struggling just to find out who they are and how good they can be. I don't see them solving that puzzle against us next week though.

I just hate the fact that we can't even be comfortable on a 3-score lead with less than 10 minutes to play against a 1-4 opponent. I can't count any game as a win yet, not until I see signs of a defensive stiffening.

    Played: 5
Games in which the opposition walked downfield on us in the Fourth Quarter: 5

Go check if you don't believe me.

for some strange reason it always seems like when we have a lead in the 4th qtr the defense starts giving the other teams wr's a big cushion underneath. it makes me nuts. i cant even count on both hands how many times i see db's giving the wide outs a 4-5 yd cushion. they really need to play more aggressively at that point instead of softening up like we do.

    Patriots remaining schedule:

@ Buffalo, @ Minnesota, vs Indy, vs JETS, @ Green Bay, vs Bears, vs Detroit, @ Miami, vs Houston, @ Jacksonville, @ Tennessee.

Then: bye, 2nd round playoff game, AFCCG, SB!

I'm not even looking at this season in terms of the Patriots. I don't think they are anything special this year but we still are not in their class right now. Let's see the team play a complete game first before we talk about winning the division or making the playoffs.
