Looking for depth. I like it: "The Jets might be finished making top-shelf moves in free agency, but they're far from done with looking at depth options to fill out the roster. The Jets announced that two unrestricted free agents would be swinging by One Jets Drive for visits on Wednesday: Inside linebacker Jamari Lattimore, who spent the last four seasons with the Packers; and offensive lineman James Brewer, who had been with the Giants since 2011. The Jets already have Demario Davis, and they signed veteran David Harris before he could hit free agency, but they don't have a proven backup inside linebacker. Right now, the only other option on the offseason roster is Mario Harvey, who was added to the practice squad in December after being released by the Colts, who had only used him as a fullback for five snaps last season, per Pro Football Focus. Lattimore, 26, had joined the Packers in 2011 as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee. He could fill the role played in recent seasons by Nick Bellore, both as a reserve inside linebacker and on special teams coverage units. (Bellore is an unrestricted free agent who remains unsigned.) Lattimore played in 11 games last year for the Packers and made five starts. He had seven tackles in the Packers' win over the Jets last September, and a season-high nine tackles a week later against the Lions. He also had an interception against the Vikings. The 6-foot-6, 330-pound Brewer was drafted by the Giants in the 2011 fourth round. He was inactive for his entire rookie season and played just 26 games in the three years that followed, including only two games last year, even though the Giants' O-line struggled and was constantly shifting personnel. D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Breno Giacomini seem set as the Jets' starting left and right guards, respectively, anyway. The Jets also have a visit lined up for Thursday with another depth option, former Ravens defensive lineman Lawrence Guy." http://teamstre.am/19zLx7u
This is why you should never acknowledge bleacher report. Wtf is that last nonsense about D'Brick and Giacomini being our left and right guard?
No problem with bringing these guys in. On a related note. I think Tanny did a good job at building a competitive team while he was here, but in hindsight, we have no one (or few) in the pipeline to grow into a starter. We lack talent on the bench.
Bleacher report has actually gotten a lot better over the past 2 (or so) years. That said, you're right about the quote. Fact checkers are needed.
The article isn't written by Bleacher Report lol Just because it's featured on their website, doesn't mean it's written by them
Lol wow, I feel dumb... I just saw the BR in the corner haha. I mean even worse, a NJ journalist calling D'Brick a guard. Rookie
You're good lol And to be honest, I only use Bleacher Report for the updates. I don't really pay attention to their articles. There are a few that are very good with detailed writeups on plays and formations. They have gotten a lot better recently.
I wouldn't mind either player on the cheap. Need backups. Going from no depth to significant depth is a nice thing.
