Notwithstanding my wood, I have to figure a taller more experienced and more successful guy than Austin Davis that they got in Foles makes them a much better team no longer slave to a number 1 pick China doll. I don't see this as a move to another move. Foles and Davis is a pretty good starter/backup QB situation. _
And then we grab Winston and start competing in 2016. Not my preferred choice but a hell of a consolation prize. _
Sounds like Schefter is pulling a fast one and now saying Rams are sending a undisclosed draft pick with Bradford. Doubt its a 1st
is that really your opinion or is it your desire to increase your desire? Foles had 1 very good season under a very QB friendly system. Davis, once that teams got some tape on him, became exposed. I know I wouldn't consider either of them a solution at this point in time if they were Jets QB's.
Honestly I could see the Rams sending a 2nd or 3rd to get out of the contract, but it does smell fishy.
Maybe not either one singularly but together yes. I think Foles is somewhere between a star and a pretty good QB. I think he coupled with a competent Davis is a solid enough tandem to man the QB position such that they aren't trading up for Mariota. _
I'd go for the elite QB first, but if the Jet sign Revis that signals to me that the Jets aren't trying to rebuild. That means I'd be willing to give up more for Brees.
Looks like the deal is the Eagles sent a 4th round pick and a 2016 2nd round pick to the rams. The Eagles get the Rams 5th round pick this year and a conditional pick in 2016 where the Eagles get the Rams 2016 4th round pick if Bradford doesn't take 50% of the snaps or a 3rd round pick if he doesn't get 50% of the snaps due to injury. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/...ck-Foles-traded-to-Rams-for-Sam-Bradford.html
Rams pulled off a nice deal there, basically dumping a contract AND moving up in this years draft AND snagging a 2nd rounder next year.
Sal Palantonio was on with Michael Kaye yesterday and was disgusted with what Chip Kelly was doing in Philly. He's from there and covers them a lot and said the trade was misguided, mismanaged and mishandled. Paying $11 million for an oft injured QB when you had a successful kid on his rookie contract as a third rounder was just illogical. He didn't sound like a reporter, he sounded like he was a fan speaking from the heart. He was dumping all over Kelly. Something along the lines of Kelly wanting to be the smartest guy in the room, doesn't have to answer to anyone now, really unhappy with the talent they've lost over the past week. _
Sal Pal hates it so much haha. He was on mike & mike this morning and I was surprised at his tone as well, basically the same things you are saying. just ripping everything Idk- I don't think the trade is all that horrible. Bradford played in that up tempo / spread offense at Oklahoma and it suits him very well. He has to stay healthy of course, that's the gamble.
