i guess avg age of this forum is indeed 60. first time someone calling me a child in any forum. i don't even call my 14 year old a child. how immature. this is a place where we discuss if brady is GOAT or not. stop the namecalling and just debate. anyway imagine brady having jerry rice or randy moss in 2005 & 2006 season. brady probably would've won the mvp in 2005. and pats probably would've had the home field in 2006 - so they probably won't lose to colts that year. brady was victim of not having elite WRs those period. brady was 28 & 29 years old. prime of his career. so don't give me this bull 'brady didn't dominate'. brady was always dominant after 1st SB ring. but unlike basketball players, QBs can only dominant when they are given a piece to work with. i laugh at those who commented 'pats had great offense! they fit perfectly in that system!' lol as if they don't even remember what brady did with an elite WR. elite WR enhances brady because we all know brady isn't the greatest deep ball thrower. but what happened to brady in 07? became the best deep ball thrower in the league. it's so easy when a WR can go get it. when you don't have it, you start thinking about it. and you start thinking about not throwing the picks(brady's pet peeve), so you either underthrow it or over throw it. brady overthrew alot after moss. bottomline, brady dominated the league like no other QB has. look beyond the stats, folks.
Again, please stop w/ the charade. all of your Brady bashing is trying to pump up Manning. That was Woodhead's role here, he wasn't effective at it whether that was b/c of a rookie QB and we didn't throw much or what but his role was to catch passes especially after leon went down. Since Brady took over in 2001 he has played w/ 2 MAYBE 3 elite players and 2 of them TEs- one of which was always hurt, the other will never play again and only played w/ Brady for a couple of years. what did Matt Cassell do at home in the playoffs in that system? best years but still couldn't get the job done. awesome. he has never had any success w/o elite talent. the one year he had injuries he missed the playoffs. Garcon is not elite, never was but to suggest he was awful and a product of Manning is laughable as he has proven to be a good WR w/o him. ohh so one throw in a game he threw 0 TDs, 2 INTs and kept Baltimore in it as his D shut down the Ravens means the greatest QB(according to you) was great that day. what a clutch QB! By the way, it was 15-6 Indy at the time of that throw w/ under 4 mins left in Bal territory. Let's not make thios throw out to be Indy by 2 inside their 10 where they would give the opponent great FP and the game would be changed. Indy's D locked down Baltimore so even if Indy punted Bal wasn't coming back from 2 scores down. other than 3 INTs in a playoff game at home against a vastly inferior opponent he was flawless? seriously? all of the INTs are on WRs, RBs, OL, the peanut vendor- it's never on Manning. They blew an historic lead, never been done before and 1st yr QB Tom Brady rescued them w/ one of the greatest drives in postseason history. I don't know? why would an elite QB throw an INT for a TD to end a SB? why would an elite QB not show up in his last SB? why would an elite QB consistently play average in the biggest games? best slot receiver and about the 50th best receiver overall. says the steeler fan on a Jet board bashing NE for cheating but was ok w/ Pitt cheating.
There is no debate. It was determined 5 or 6 pages ago that Brady, while an all-time great (notwithstanding the cheating stigma) is not and never was the GOAT. The debate is over. Continuing to troll just brings recriminations. Brady never dominated anything. Two exceptional years and the rest pretty good. Stop looking at stats. And saying stuff like "bottomline" doesn't add anything to your argument. _
Did you mention McShamiels and CHeating Charlie? HA HA, talk about absolute failures and akin to the cheating cultures brought from NE elsewhere.....got a love this comeback The only system in NE is this mr troll....Bill Belicheat and Ernie Adams.....Period. KNow it, embrace it, us haters know the system. Any schlub can succeed in that system (the backup did great too).....it's really all Ernie. (you know the guy not listed in any capacity other than perhaps back office support. Weis was a fraud and is every other defector from the BB/EA tree. Why are some of them back in NE? Pretty simple math. What is a little kid for you and what year did you start watching football?
Hey Junc...... when those concerns came out, the NFL aready banned the practice which pretty much all teams did. Steelers Drafted extremely well...something they still do and have since 1970. Now stop with your steriod nonsense. It wasn't illegal to do it in the NFL. Get it through your head. So we cheated in 2005 and 2008 too right? Yeah Yeah, the officials in XL....blah blah blah Go Kiss Suzy's cameltoe
I am using your whiny excuse making logic, I have no issue w/ what Pitt did and I have no issue w/ what NE did. They have possibly the greatest QB of all time who turned that franchise from heading down the toilet to greatest dynasty in SB era.
The Steelers never cheated. Steroids were legal at the time the Steelers and every other organization was using them. _
Not once did I mention Manning. You brought him up because it’s your obsession. Not mine We used Woodhead on Special Teams. That was it. He was not used properly here. I DON’T CARE ABOUT “ELITE”. Cassel sucks, but in the two years he was in that system he played way above himself. That is a fact. The best seasons of their careers were in that system. Period. I’m quoting the following separately because of the irony in this post When the game was on the line (the supposed time where you put the highest value) he made a big play to Clark ON THIRD AND FIVE and the score was 12-6 not 15-6. Still within one score. Yes, he played a great game against the Chiefs. Okay, so then I will provide you the screen shots to show that Harrison was at fault on one of the INTs. Garcon is average. You have overrated him because you saw him make one big play against us. First they had the lead because of the defense and second they blew a lead against one of the all-time great offenses. Hardly an epic fail by the defense.. At least not by the standards of those who have a clue. More deflecting. It’s funny how it’s all Manning’s fault even when his teammates drop the ball, or fumble, or run the wrong route, it’s still always Manning’s fault with you. You have an obsessive insane bias against him, so your opinion on anything Manning is pretty irrelevant. It actually makes you look rather unintelligent. I mean, seriously, Manning is only successful because of the “elite” players around him, he can’t win without them. I actually feel bad for you Welker, by far the best slot receiver in the game = huge advantage for the Patriots offense This whole post is pointless. Brady had weapons... players that were perfect fits to the Patriots offensive scheme, and is not the GOAT
mods, can we add a (speculation) suffix to this thread title? didn't realize we were allowed to make inaccurate unsubstantiated thread titles. seriously, i can barely come to NFL section because of this title appearing, which i fundamentally disagree with..........and it's appearing as if the notion is approved by Jet fans, when the overwhelming majority are not endorsing this cheat as the best. ..misleading and inaccurate for the board
Good Point. i'll let junc have the last word. I know he likes that, and I'll move on. I just wish he'd learn a thing or two about football before chewing up so much bandwidth. Not understanding the critical roles players like Edelman or Welker have had in NE really says a lot about a lack of understanding the game.
People form their opinions based on their own criteria. Without fact, it is futile (and ridiculous) to try to change someone's opinion with words alone. The OP stated his opinion and gave his criteria, and others have chimed in with their opinions. Me myself, I cannot come up with a GOAT, but chose to view who is the best of their individual era. I feel Brady is the best of his era based on stats and results. Were Elway and Marino great? Of course. But they were not the best of their era (Montana was), so I do not include them in MY conversation. I never saw Otto Graham play, or be familiar with whatever "weapons" he had at his disposal, but he is clearly in my conversation. Others would argue that Bradshaw, Plunkett, and Eli belong in the conversation due to being on teams that won multiple SB's. I however do not. But I won't attack someone who feels that way.
lol, that's actually perfect. succinctly describes this entire thread w/o any misleading representation of Jet fans on this board. mods, make it happen!
Well, look no further than the OP's initial post: "I think he has now done enough to move past Montana in my book. against an all time great D led his team back from 10 pts down in the 4th qtr to win the SB."
