Gilcherest would be a true FS who finally gets it. He played 2 years at CB and 2 years at FS. San Diego was clueless. I went to Clemson with him. He is a FS.

Dude isn't even close to the Honey Badger, he's a typical SS, I really hope they don't go two SS set like Rex always did. Jets need a real cover safety

Yeah I don't buy it but if he does actually have that ability I'll be the first to admit I'm wrong, I'll fall all over myself admitting it actually. I'll roll around on the floor rubbing my wrongness in my face like a scolded dog.

Just don't think it will happen.

Even if that's true, once you figure $7 - $8 million to sign the draft picks, $6-$7 million for Cro, perhaps $3 - $4 million for Gilchrist (or more), that doesn't leave much for camp cuts, to sign Fitzpatrick, and leaves nothing with which to pay Mo.

That's never going to happen. He will get 5-6 minimum. He's not coming off a terrible year like last time.

They won't be able to sign both Cromartie and Gilchrist and still have enough left for a QB if one they like becomes available. I'm guessing they would prefer Cro as Boles plays a ton of CBs in his defense.

I would like Nate Allen, Eagle SS, but wouldn't be upset if we get Gilchrist.

I do not see Cro coming back, unless they think that Millner and McDougle cannot be counted on.

I may have to retract this as I see that Cro was tweeting he is coming back. They are really piling on the DB's.

Can Skrine play FS? He seems for suited to that than corner and I hear he can tackle.

But they are negotiating a deal this morning. Maybe he deleted the tweet.

Maybe they put Milliner on the block? Granted I'm guessing the return value might not be high on him but they might want to just unload the contract and maybe someone will think he has some value and worth the gamble.

He should only get that much, but with what teams are paying FAs in general, and CBs in particular, he's likely to get at least $5 million, if not $6-$7 million imo.

I wouldn't have either, and I think it a waste, but when I went to bed I saw it posted that the Jets were going to be negotiating with Cro through the night. Why do that if they weren't planning on signing him? Evidently, they're not very high on either Milliner or McDougle.
