That would only be true if the two teams were in the same salary cap situation, which they are not. The Jets have to spend the money. Who would you rather give it to?
Maybe just maybe the Patriots aren't willing to offer Revis as much because they don't have any real cap space?
It says something when a player has a chance to repeat as champs but he leaves IF strictly for money. SOURCE: Revis to Jets done deal unless NE matches.
We don't have a qb on our roster who will command that money so what's the difference? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Precisely sir... This whole it's qb money makes no sense. Folks there are no qbs on the roster or on the market that will command that money. The only time that will happen is when we draft one bc no qb worth that money will ever hit the market. And if we draft one at that level they won't command that money in the next 3 years. Well, they have invested a lot of time to bring him back. I hope it doesn't come apart at the end here.
I want Revis, but is anybody else getting the feeling that we are being used? Once 4pm hit all of a sudden Shefter said we were well ahead in the Revis sweepstakes. Now all these new teams are getting mentioned. Feels like the Revis camp is using us to tighten the screws on NE for an extra few bucks...
Jets are getting trolled by Mevi$ & Co. This is all to drive up NE's offer. He has no intention of signing and even if he does he is not worth it and will be whining about a new contract next year.
Yes, I would assume everyone has made their offers. He is probably just kicking back on the coach reading this thread laughing.
The longer it goes on, the more I feel that way. Either that or the Pats are trying to restructure some other players in order to fit Revis in under the cap.
Is he worth 6M more than Sherman? is he worth more than 1/10th of your cap next year and the year after? If signing him blocks the Jets from being able to maintain and keep Richardson in 2017 is he worth it? Is his 16M per year worth 2 top line O-linemen and a RB? If you want to have an agressive and scoring offense you can not pay 16M to a corner.
Source? I love when people cite a persons intentions w no actual information. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
