Trading Revis was 100% the right move at the time. It netted us one of the top DL in the league and he's only in year 3. I take that over Revis at the $16 mil he wanted 10 times out of 10.

Yup exactly. I like the alternative of signing Cro and Browner and tell Revis to kick rocks

It would be such an amazing middle finger if whatever number revis takes for his jersey number is the number of millions he is getting paid a year. If he did that i would applaud him as the ultimate troll

    Agree x1000000

Every year it goes higher. We have a ton of money with the option to sign the best corner in the NFL at a position of HUGE need. Sign the man for $16 million a year and be done with it.

Spend the money and stop worrying about the position for years

I say trade down for Schreff + whatever and give 6th pick up. Gives us a solid OL

Without the trade, I think we still take Richardson. So, the two have nothing to do with one another imo. We just wouldn't have taken Milliner, who has been useless.

So you think we wouldn't have taken the guy we took with the earlier pick and instead would have taken the guy we took with the later pick if we only had 1? That makes no sense.

theres so much risk with that, and I question if the returns will be worth the over grossed price…

is he really worth paying that well for 3 years? I don't think so… the long term value of a move like that would be minuscule….

It makes some sense. Why would the Jets take a CB at #9 with Revis on the roster? That smelled of a need over BPA pick.

if we can get a vet like Cro for just as long and for less than do it. we don't need to pay bridges more than what they really are.

Yes. We took Milliner because we lost Revis. They simply would not have taken a CB if the team still had Revis and Cro...

I think the plan was to take Tavon Austin and then Milliner, but the team panicked once Austin was taken, and took Milliner (followed by Richardson).

What the heck? Milliner at #9 was the very definition of a BPA pick.

at the time he sure was. he was mocked to the top 6 or so multiple times I believe. sure as shit wasn't a reach, not unless you use the gift of hindsight.

You don't go with a CB when you already have 2 elite ones. Doesn't matter how much of a BPA he is...

Yes, "best player available." But there are clearly limitations to taking the BPA. If you have an elite qb, you usually don't take a qb, even if he's BPA (Rodgers was the exception). If you already have 2 elite corners, you also don't take a 3rd. There's taking BPA, and then there's drafting like fucking retards, and no team does that..
