You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but you did in fact criticize posters for making judgements on "leaked deals", not just the deals themselves, which are two very different things and not merely semantics. It's one thing to criticize a deal, it's another to criticize posters for making a judgement on a deal because it's leaked and not technically official yet. Anyways, cheers mate, seems like we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Hopefully we can tone down the cursing and the name calling next time, I'm sure both of are not on here for that!
Oh they have failed plenty already. Those who have watched them fail for 40+ f@cking years know it when we see it.
Bleacher report indicates Cary Williams will sign with Seahawks and that we had made an offer. Does anyone want to play for this team? Anyone?
He's the best run blocker, but not the best overall OG imo. That is Franklin. I agree that we need help on the OL, but he will do little or nothing to help protect Fitzpatrick, or Geno, or whoever's playing QB for the Jets. Give me Boling or James Carpenter of Seattle over Iupati.
What could possibly be different between the '95 Cowboys and the '15 Jets? Not much I guess, obviously the teams are in the same place...
I think we should re-sign him because he's a very good all-around back. He's not great at any one thing, but is good to very good at everything rushing, receiving and blocking. Could we find faster RBs? Yes. Could we find RBs who are better running the ball? Certainly. Could we sign a back that does everything well? Possibly, maybe even doubtfully. As we've already seen, a lot of players don't want to play here. Powell has been here and has been a good player and teammate. He deserves to stay imo.
You guys aren't trying to steal our cornerback are you? The nerve! Forget about being disciplined. You better be prepared to open up that purse big time.
Not too sure about Carpenter, but at least he is an upgrade and has 1st round pedigree and can pass protect, something we may actually need. The more I think about it, the more I really feel we will address O line early in the draft, maybe even round 1.
Most here would call me an FO skeptic, but I don't think I am reflexively so. It's too early to complain about the FO moves. At some of the team's biggest positions of need, especially Qb, there are not a lot of FA options (which is one reason I think a trade may still be a way to upgrade). I was underwhelmed by some of the OG options. Perhaps Carpenter is the most reasonable option. Overall I think too many here underrate the OL because they want to give SMith a free pass. It is possible a move like Carpenter replacing Colon, who has to go, is enough to make the OL above average. Other than Qb, Cb is where the real focus should be, that and on keeping some of the key players the Jets already have. I am not sure Harris is worth what they will give him. But they have the money so there's that. I assume WR is more or less set despite Kerley's unfortunate lack of progress. If the Jets can get Revis and Cro or someone else, have kept Harrison and worked out Wilkerson on a new contract, the D will be above avearge for sure. Tweaking the OL may be all we can expect this FA season. Marshall is already here. That leaves Qb as the big problem for the FO. I want to see something done here, but the problem is really Smith and the lack of alternatives.
What is there to complain about they tried to get the top 2 guards but couldn't it's not like they are sitting on their hands not doing anything
I guess part of my lack of concern at this point was because I did not think much of either Franklin or Iupati.
Lol hope we enjoy another year of 40 million of rollover money. Seriously though. How could anyone want one of those D-Line guys at six? We need a future at QB. We already have a beastly front seven. Geno/Hoyer/Fitzpatrick is not going to cut it.
