No thanks. 30 years old, would require that we overpay him just because he has name value and he's a specialist. I would rather feel that roster spot with someone eight years younger and millions cheaper.
I don't want him either but.....he made a million bucks last year and was due to make 2.5 this year........way too many people love to say " oh he'll cost this or he'll cost that"....nonsense....he can be had for 1.5- 2 million so I don't think the young guy will be "millions cheaper"
The Ravens would have traded him in a heartbeat if they thought they could get anything for him. No need for a KO returner as long as Harvin is still on the squad. And the guy can't play WR any more. So I don't see a point.
Players like him have become pretty obsolete. No reason to have any $$ invested in someone like Jones when he'll only have 1-2 chances per game to make a play.
Agreed. They really eliminated the KR/PR part of the game with the new 35yd kickoff line. While I understand the need to reduce injuries, this rule change went too far and practically eliminated ST's. Might as well eliminate KO's all together and just let teams start on the 20.
Unfortunately guys like Jacoby Jones have lost a lot of their value due to the new kickoff rules in the NFL. He's not worth investing in, he doesnt even really return punts either.
Yep its a shame too. When our ST's were one of the best in the league our kickoff guys really made a difference in our starting field position. Guys like Chad Morton, Leon, Justin Miller and Brad Smith were so important. Id love to see what a player like Percy could do with that extra running room. It might make him worth what he's getting.

Only reason they haven't done so yet is for the onside kick....a play we see maybe a dozen times a year. Plus the NFL needs to justify another commercial break between the place kick and the 1st down
Jacoby Jones would be an Idzik type signing. Stevie Johnson would be way better if we are trying to get another WR on the cheap.
