He may seek a huge deal, but that doesn't mean he'll get it. He started one season, and wasn't ranked very highly at all. Similarly, Cro may ask for a big payday, but I don't think he'll get it. He's probably warn his welcome out in AZ, and has little leverage with the Jets. I doubt anyone else will be lining up for his services. Yes, sometimes teams have to overpay to get FAs, particularly if there are multiple teams bidding on the player, but that isn't always the case.

Maxwell should be at the top of the list of signings, Cro should be at the bottom under desperation options. If the Jets sign Max, Cro should stop being an option immediately, there would be no need for him at all, let him go back to AZ.

No actually, the stupid idea is back-loading Revis's contract. He's going to be on the wrong side of 30 soon - yeah let's backload it and give him 13 14M while trying to resign Richardson. Wilkerson and Richardson are the backbones of our defense. It's smarter to give Wilkerson his extension, front load it [while you acquire a Maxwell] - when the time comes for Richardson - you have the option to give him more cash up-front as Wilkerson's deal already went through a large portion of his contract.

Yeah stupid idea, I know nothing about economics. Sounds like you know nothing about football.

Who the hell even mentioned Revis. I was talking about Wilk. You can't even follow a straight line of logical thought, forget economics.

Fill me in, why would Revis want to go back to the Jets?
They have a good IRA, free parking?

Everyone who loves money wants to go the jets, thanks to our former moronic gms do nothing plan, we know have so much money we have to spend. jets will be willing to over pay a little cause we need to get into compliance. It's gonna be like payday at start of free agency, watch how all theses guys and there agents line up talk glowingly about the jets. Lol

I didn't vote because sure I want Revis back. But unless Woody freaks out and drastically overpays him because he doesn't want to be criticized by the press he'll ask for a totally unreasonable amount of money from the Jets. He isn't going to give the Jets a hometown discount maybe he'll give Belichick one because in reality he's a Patriot. As for Cro he isn't that good so who cares. According to Daniel Jeremiah's latest mock draft the Jets will select the Michigan State Cb at 6. That's way too high for that player.

I don't know how Daniel Jeremiah stays employed. He is clueless. One of the worst judges of talent I've seen. Half the fans on this board know more than he does.

I think it's epic that plenty more of us would rather have the lesser talent, who is actually older too.

Just goes to show what a real POS Mevi$ is.

Maxwell is not getting 9-10. He is a second corner on his present team. He will get a nice chunk of change but I would never give him that. AS for Cro, if everybody else signs somewhere else, okay. Then you draft one to go with him.

Maxwell was the hot target all year long and he did very well, he's going to command 1CB money wherever he goes, that is a fact

Cro, is also a skilled film study, like Revis, and would benefit the Jets youth movement in the secondary...

I agree. I don't think he will get that kind of money after only one year of starting and his stats weren't very good. He looked better because of who he was opposite. That's why I said the Jets can sign two CBs plus another good FA all for the same price that Revis would demand.

I voted both, but it isn't going to happen. I think Revis will leave NE because he WANTS to play for Rex Ryan. The only reason why he went to the Patsies to begin with was because they were the high bidder. Moreover, BB is a cheap AH. The Patsies owe Revis 20 million this season and they are not going to pay that. They will cut him. Revis will consider their offers of approximately 12 million per, but with Rex Ryan surely bidding for his services and Buffalo probably offering just a little more money Revis lands in Buffalo. The NYJ don't stand a chance at getting Revis. The only reason why Revis wanted to come back last season was because he likes playing for Rex Ryan. Todd Bowles? WTF is that to Revis?

DRC got 7M per last FA, in a very deep CB group.
that only put him as the 15th highest paid CB.

they are comparable players. but Maxwell is coming with less risk, has less wear and tear, the cap has gone up, and he's arguably the top CB this FA.
he's going to get paid. I'd put 7 or 8M per as the floor, with 9M being a very possible scenario.
