My memory of that game is as grainy as that video. Next to the Seahawks recent comeback against Green Bay, it's kinda boring.
Great game ... It was fun to watch it again ... But unfortunately it was the highlight of the most frustrating season ever as a Jet fan. Not only do we punch Miami in the balls that night, but we go down to Miami a few weeks later and beat them easily. And they STILL won the damn division. And we beat the Colts to go 9-4 and make them 7-6 with three weeks to go ... And they STILL beat us out for the wildcard spot. We go 3-1 vs Indy and Miami and we had the best division record at 6-2, but the Dolphins and Colts faced off against each other in the playoffs while the Jets watched at home. That was really tough to swallow. BTW --- Collingsworth is about 100x better in the booth than Fouts ... And Miller was awful.
One of the best Jets game I've ever seen. Not because we played great (we sucked for 3 quarters) but because living in Miami, I got to watch Dolphins eat shit for an entire week. Plus Wayne Chrebet (my favorite Jets player ever) was magnificent. Dennis Miller is fucking awful though. Ugh....almost makes it unwatchable.
There was a Jets history DVD in 2007 that had a bunch of special features on it including a twenty-minute segment on that Miami game. On the whole that season was so frustrating...we had all those wild wins early we had no business winning, the game in Tampa, the game against the Pats where we were down two scores with like seven minutes left and this...and STILL went same old Jets in crunchtime.
It's hard to top 1986 for most frustrating season ever, at least if you lived through 1986 (I didn't really myself, I was eight then but have read enough about it to have a feel for what happened). Aside from that I'd say the Pete Carroll fake spike season was probably the most annoying for me. That team looked like it could be dominant after destroying Buffalo and beating Denver in the first two weeks, fell back, surged again and then imploded against Marino and died on the vine after. And of course that finish brought us Kotite because Leon wanted to win now.
Chan Gailey was their offensive coordinator! lol. Had their QB looking like Marino in the first half. This is cool.. i was only 9 years old when this game was live.. and i was watching it.. my grandma made me turn it off and go to bed for school and i didn't care because we were getting killed anyway lol. I didn't understand the game as much as i do now obviously so watching this over is great !
Remember the game very well. Worked in Miami (at the time) and had a blast the next day giving it to the dolphag fans. I only wished we many days like that. Thanks for link I downloaded it using JDownloader.
