    2015 the rebuild officially begins!

    CUTS

    Percy Harvin
    Chris Johnson

    FREE AGENT RE-SIGNEES
    Leger Douzable
    Kenrick Ellis

    TRADES
-The New York Jets trade Muhammed Wilkerson to the Cleveland Browns’ in exchange for their 1st round pick received from Buffalo in the Sammy Watkins draft trade last year (19th overall) and their 6th round pick.

-The New York Jets trade Damon Harrison to the Detroit Lions for their second round draft pick.

    FREE AGENTS SIGNEES
    Name:
    Greg Hardy
    Height: 6’4”
    Weight: 275 lbs
    Position: DE/OLB
    Team: Carolina Panthers
    Age: 26
Hardy should come at a discount because of his legal troubles. What many don’t know about Hardy is that he is a tremendous athlete. At Ole Miss he played some wide receiver and played on the basketball team.

    Name: Chris Culliver
    Height: 6’0”
    Weight: 199 lbs
    Position: CB
    Team: San Francisco 49ers
    Age: 26
Ranked the 14th best CB by PFF this past season. He should come at a cheaper price tag than other young FA CBs like Kareem Jackson and Byron Maxwell.

    Name: James Carpenter
    Height: 6’5”
    Weight: 321 lbs
    Position: OG
    Team: Seattle Seahawks
    Age: 25
Though not anywhere near the level of Iupati, this former 1st round pick should be a significant improvement over Colon.

    Name: Jabaal Sheard
    Height: 6’3”
    Weight: 264 lbs
    Position: DE/OLB
    Team: Cleveland Browns
    Age: 26
Versatile defender who has had success in both the 4-3 and 3-4. He led the Browns in sacks each of his 1st 3 years.

    Name: Bruce Carter
    Height: 6’2”
    Weight: 240 lbs
    Position: LB
    Team: Dallas Cowboys
    Age: 26
Carter might be the fastest LB in the NFL and also has both 4-3 and 3-4 experience.

    DRAFTEES
    Round 1 (6th overall):
Marcus Mariota 6’4” 220 lbs QB Oregon
    No comments necessary.

Round 1 (19th overall): Marcus Peters 6’0” 198 lbs CB Washington
Peters has shut down corner potential. Let’s hope the issues he had with the Washington coaching staff was not a sign to come.

Round 2: Sammie Coates 6’2” 213 lbs CB Auburn
Not one of my favorite WRs in the draft but Coates brings the element of speed that can blow the top off of a defense to create room underneath for guys like Decker, Amaro, Kerley and company to operate.

Round 2: Donovan Smith 6’6” 341 lbs OT Penn St
Breno sucks and Brick is getting old.

Round 3: Jay Ajayi 6’0” 216 lbs RB Boise St
Ajayi is a Chris Ivory clone with better hands to catch passes out of the backfield and down the field. Note Ivory is a FA after 2015.

Round 4: Chris Hackett 6’1” 195 lbs FS TCU
IMO the best FS prospect in the draft. He’s currently projected as a 4th rounder on most sites but that might change once teams really start to delve into tape on him. Until then, I’m praying he lasts til the 4th.

    Round 5: Ty Montgomery 6’0” 216 lbs WR/PR/KR/RB Stanford
I fully expect Montgomery’s stock to drop. His loss is our gain. Like Denard Robinson 2 years ago, I think this guy is being miscasted early in the draft process as a WR. I see him more as a RB, that can play some WR. He is a guy who is better with the ball in his hands but has shaky ball skills. He would provide some of the elements we would lose with cutting Harvin and not resigning Powell.

Round 6: Blake Bell 6’6” 263 lbs TE Oklohoma
Former QB with sure hands and a load to bring down. Blake is a developmental prospect who is a low risk pick now with potential to yield a high reward in couple of years.

Round 7: DeMarieya Nelson 6’2” 235 lbs FB Arizona St
Tommy Bohanon could not block when he had a healthy collarbone; I doubt his blocking improves coming back from a broken one. Nelson is a terrific blocker and a great athlete who has played RB, TE and DE.

    DEPTH CHART
    QB: Marcus Mariota/Geno Smith
RB: Chris Ivory, Jay Ajayi, Ty Montgomery
    FB:
    DeMarieya Nelson/Tommy Bohanon
WR1: Eric Decker, Shaq Evans, Quincy Enunwa
WR2: Sammie Coates, Jeremy Kerley, Chris Owusu
TE: Jace Amaro/Jeff Cumberland, Blake Bell/Zach Sudfeld
    LT: D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Ben Ijalana
    LG: Oday Aboushi, Wesley Johnson
    C: Nick Mangold, Dalton Freeman
    RG: James Carpenter, Dakota Dozier
    RT: Donovan Smith/Breno Giacomini

    DE: Quinton Coples, Leger Douzable
    NT: Kendrick Ellis, T.J. Barnes
    DT: Sheldon Richardson, Leger Douzable
WOLB: Jabaal Sheard, Calvin Pace, Trevor Reilly
    ILB: Bruce Carter
    ILB: Demario Davis, Ikemefuna Enemkpali
    SOLB: Greg Hardy, Jason Babin,
CB1: Chris Culliver, Darrin Walls, Dexter McDougle
    CB2: Marcus Peters/Dee Milliner
    FS: Chris Hackett/Jaiquawn Jarrett
    SS: Calvin Pryor/Antonio Allen

As a Browns fan, I'd gladly take that trade.

Hate both trades since I think it is tough to ask or think that a 1st round draft pick can replace Wilkerson's production and likewise with a 2nd round draft pick for Harrison.

I am alright with Mariota with the 6th pick and Coates with the 2nd round draft picks though.

Harrison is a FA, how would we trade him? I'm also against trading Wilkerson.

Like your draft for the most part. I think you took Donovan Smith a little early, see him as a 3-5 round guy.

Peters off the field stuff is a bit blown out of proportion. Players argue with coaches, it happens. But I don't think I can fathom taking another CB in the first.

Mariota if he is there would have to be the pick, there is too much doubt at the QB position. I don't think he'll be there at 6 but stranger things have happened.

Sammie Coates is a good pick also.

    Nice work.

If we trade Wilkerson I would want to get more. he's a top 3 player at his position and has zero warts.

Loved the draf but trade our All-Pro , class act, home grown and best player for a late-mid round first and 6th rounder? Only to fill the hole with a woman beater who will probably send next season in prison?
    No thanks

Trading Mo Wilk for Marcus Peters? Ugh.

    Other than that, decent draft.

I believe one of Cooper, Mariota and Winston will fall to #6.

I just can't get behind trading Mo. A few years ago, it was the last great home-grown player and now it's the next. It's not like we'd have to pay the guy 15M per year or something. Also conflicted about trading Damon Harrison for a 2nd. He's probably the best run-stopping NT in the league. The new regime had better like Kenrick Ellis a lot.

No thanks on Greg Hardy. Obviously a big time talent, but also in some serious trouble. Not the kind of guy you want on your team...

Carpenter would be a decent option at OG and Sheard would be a solid addition. Not sure about Carter though; he's gifted, but he didn't have a good season with Dallas last year.

If Mariota actually makes it to 6, gotta be happy with that. A guy who got dismissed by his team at #19? Not sure about that one either. Coates seems like a boom or bust to me and if they were to draft him, I'd like to see some veteran insurance rather than depending on him to start from Day 1. That's a big jump for Donovan Smith, who is talented but had a very inconsistent college career and may have come out early. I like the rest of the picks though.

Don't leave Marcus Williams off the depth chart at CB.

A lot of risky moves that I can't say seem worth it... The character of this team takes some big hits too... I appreciate a different perspective and new ideas, but I wouldn't sign up for this scenario

I do as well. I think if TB takes Mariota, Winston will fall.if it's the other way around a team will trade up for Mariota.

trade wilkerson for the 19th pick is an awful idea. wilkerson is a pro bowl caliber player, and i'd estimate that only about 5% of picks from the bottom half of the first round are pro bowl type players. why do this?

If I made that trade proposal in Madden, even Madden would say WTF bro? If you are going to propose that trade, I think you have to start by grabbing CLE's 12th overall pick.
