can't see denver not tagging him. if he was to somehow magically hit the market though im sure he'd interview he first since his best friend is here. with our cap space DT better not leave our building. DT, decker, Kerley, & Amaro.. in a spread with Spiller in the back field... boner
Yeah but what are the chances Harvin plays 16 games next season. Match that up with Thomas' chances. I'm not talking about freak injuries I'm talking about constant injuries. Harvin is injury prone, Thomas isn't. Makes him worth top 3 WR $$
Wouldn't that be something! That would be a very solid receiving core. Only if we had Peyton Manning to throw them the ball though.... UGH
If he gets out of Denver I feel like you pay the man. Draft OL in the first and add a solid OL free agent. That way you could even put Fitzpatrick behind that line with Spiller, Thomas, Decker, Kerley and Amaro and I think we can compete offensively. Gailey loves the spread and Thomas thrives on quick screens and YAK
Anyone catch Decker's quote about not being prepared for games? He mentioned not practicing "the little things" that great teams do in order to be successful. He then went on to say how excited he is to work with Bowles. I think this quote is the real story, forget DT. Towards the end of Rex's tenure, I really got the impression that he was overwhelmed by the game planning and managing aspect of being a head coach. Sure, he was an excellent motivator and defensive schemer, but by all accounts the guy just does not know how to be a head coach.
Decker in 2013 87 catches, 1,288 yards and 11 TDs Decker in 2014 74 catches, 962 yards and 5 TDs The drop off in yards isn't too drastic, TDs were a big difference but keep in mind he was hurt so he only played in 15 games this year as opposed to 16 in 2013. Thomas in 2014 111 catches, 1,619 yards and 11 TDs So with that said I would expect Thomas to have stats in the 90 catches, 1,400 yards and 8 TDs range. I'll take that.
Peyton helped obviously but guys like DT, Dez, Calvin would put up big numbers anywhere. If anything Sanders and Decker were more successful cause of Peyton.
DT, Decker and a 2nd round receiver like Rashad Greene and we are looking elite at WR especially with big Jace at TE. Jamies with the 1st along with that unit is a dream wow
I would love Thomas on the Jets, but a lot has to happen first for that to happen. He is most likely Denver's top priority. Their other FA's Knighton, Thomas, Welker and Franklin will probably not be brought back, maybe one of them. Plus they could always franchise tag him.
Yeah, but it may not be a choice between Manning and Smith. It could very well be a choice between Brock Osweiler and Geno Smith.
As amazing as it would be it's just not going to happen while Peyton Manning is still the QB of the Broncos. They are in a "win now" mindset and letting one of the top receivers in the league go would be going against that mentality.
Is there any reason at all why Denver wouldn't just franchise tag him? That's a very easy way to keep him around. I would love to have DT here in Chan Gailey's offense... but I think it is literally impossible unless for some reason Denver doesn't want him back at all.
