I like Kendricks, I just like Dawson, McKinney, and Anthony more. Didn't mention McKinney because I think he's expected to go round 1, I was just mentioning Dawson as a potential surprise 1st rounder. I agree with your post.
I'm just seeing this now for the first time. Wow. That's practically every player to hit the free agent market. When do we lock up Wilkerson? By opting for Kareem Jackson & Cro, - I guess that means you are throwing in the towel on Milliner & McDougal?? Remember, - Marcus Williams played very very well in the backstretch. First 2 picks are Hurricanes. Jay Ajayi might be gone by the 3rd pick ---- you could settle for Northern Iowa's David Johnson (poor man's version of Jay Ajayi).
Marcus Williams is a depth option more or less, McDougle has yet to play a game but since this regime didn't draft him they may move on or maybe Bowles can make something out of him. Same goes for Milliner, but since he was such a high pick I think he will still be around and will be given a chance to compete.
Can't count on McDougle's health, at best he would be a nickel, as far as Milliner he's still cheap on the rookie contract and Cro will only be here for possibly 1 year. We could easily sign all the players I suggested, it just isn't their FA salary. Restructuring current contracts and using upfront money/signing bonuses or backload to make contracts Cap friendly. Trust me, that isn't "all the Free agents that hit the market". The significant money would be spent on Worilds and Maclin I don't think Ajayi will be gone in Rd 2, they're still quite a few higher ranked RBs. I selected Ajayi for his ability catching out of the backfield, something needed in Gailey's offense. What's wrong with two Cane players? They happen to be some of the best players available at their position.
In a few mock drafts I've seen the raiders going for a defensive player and cooper falling to us. Does anyone think there is a realistic chance of getting him , or do you think people making mock drafts like to get our hopes up and watch us suffer on draft day.
Anything is possible in regards to the draft in late January. There is no guarantee that Cooper is the first WR selected let alone a gauranteed top 5 pick. Keep in mind Del Rio in his first year is a defensive minded coach, it is not at all out of the realm of possibilities that they select a defensive player.
A mock draft is just one person's opinion, don't let it bother You. As far as Cooper, he could be available at #6, it doesn't mean the Jets will draft him. Free Agency plays important part on who the Jets will draft.
If we get one of the WR in FA I don't to draft him. Can't stand teams who have good enough players at certain positions and keeping drafting the same type of player. For example lion drafted Eric ebron and that was not concern for them.
Nothing wrong with guys from THE U. Just being a nudgy. I'm an agreement fan of the first 5 players drafted. I must admit, - if we sign all those FAs - we will be competing with the PATS for the division crown from day 1. Just want to be sure there's $$ for Harrison, Wilkerson & down the road with Richardson.
That looks like an Idzik draft. If Harvin is getting cut we will need playmakers. We have a slot receiver in Kerley who we just signed to a decent contract why would we waste a pick on another one?
