I'd love to get CJ Spiller in here. He was so good under Chan Gailey in Buffalo.

Ivory and Powell and draft an explosive back in the draft. My current favorite for a late 2nd early 3rd is Duke Johnson.

Roy Helu or maybe that guy from Atlanta who scored a TD on like every 3rd carry.

I agree I hope the Jets don't make the same mistake Idzik made by not getting a premium WR. There are some good RB in this draft and the Jets should get one.

As long as Gurley can catch, I would take him in the 3rd.

I like David Johnson from Northern Iowa. He would be a great complement to Ivory.

You really think he will be there in the 3rd?

Chris Ivory has been a joy to watch since he arrived. I'd like to keep him as long as he continues to produce at his current level.

A good 3rd down guy like Spiller, Bush, or Vereen would be a great compliment to Ivory and contribute to keeping him healthy.

Powell has been a good third back. He can run, catch, and block at an average, if unexciting, level. We have other worries, but he can be upgraded at some point. He may even end up trading places with Spiller as I see him as a "Rex" guy.

Johnson was a terrible signing that had Woody's "look at me" fingerprints all over it. He needs to be gone to free up the money and roster space. Hopefully the new regime doesn't have to succumb to Woody's proclivity for flashy signings that do nothing but distract and waste money and roster room (see also: Tebow).

It's possible depending on the medical issues and political stuff with agents. Who knows how far McGahee would have fallen during prime RB years if his agent hadn't duped the Bills.

A smart team doesn't spend high FA dollars on a RB with years on the odometer. If it was a young guy with low mileage then that is something, like Lynch or McGahee, but this is a deep RB draft and we have to test the new personnel people not spend valuable cap room for the sake of it.

Sign Wilk, Sheldon, Snacks, extend Davis, Ivory, Kerley, restructure Harvin, Mangold, Brick.

There will be plenty of room for 2 to 3 real solid players in FA, maybe Maxwell, a pass rusher, and hopefully a pass play free safety.

And the dregs will get you a stopgap QB if you trade up for one of the two decent QBs available early.

True. Tiki Barber had a bad fumbling problem when he came into the NFL on the Giants. That can be fixed. Abdullah would be HUGE for the Jets.

I agree I wouldn't be mad if they drafted him. I was just pointing out that he has a fumbling problem

Curtis and Thomas disagree, but I digress. If we can get a decent scatback through the draft, that would be cool, but you can't rely on a rookie RB for pass protection if history is any guide.
As bad as our current OL situation is in pass pro, combined with how bad our starter at QB will most likely be, I'm not comfortable with a rookie 3rd down back protecting our quarterback.
