What do you guys think?? he has only been successfull under Chan Gailey.
3 1000 yard seasons in a row under him, he will most likely be released this offseason

I'm down. He's the only WR I ever saw beat pre-injury Revis

As a UK fan, I would support this. As a Jets fan, I'm unsure how much he has left. Might not be a bad complement to Decker if we're trying to go the cheap route though.

Might as well go get Cobb too, I'm sure I could get a few UK fans to follow the Jets if that were the case haha

I'd bring him in but only depending on what happens with Harvin.

We don't need him here. He can't be counted on because he does his own thing out there... doesn't run the routes he's supposed to, doesn't hang onto the ball, etc.. If we have a young QB here that will be doubly damaging. Buffalo got better the day they traded him.

He is not a focused individual. He compiled stats in Buffalo but thats it. Anytime the game was on the line or they counted on him to make a play he folded.

I'd rather draft or count on a young receiver than take a flier on johnson.

Why not Chad Johnson, Plaxico Burress, Santonio Holmes, Randy Moss, or Terrell Owens?

    Think Moss has plenty left.

his "success" against Revis was very, very, very overblown.

In 8 games against the Jets w/ Revis he compiled:
    - 26 rec 338 yards 4 TDs

And that includes a 5 catch 72 yard performance in a 38-7 loss in 2010 on the last game of the season where I am not even sure if the Jets rested Revis or not. but I'll include it anyway

It also includes a 3 rec 84 yard performance in a 27-11 loss in which he was really shutdown for 2 catches for 32 yards but got a 52 yard catch in garbage time. but of course I'll include it anyway

All of that is an average of ~~3 recs ~~42 yards and a 50% chance of a TD per game. Which is actually quite appropriate because his stat lines pretty much mirror that against Revis.

if 3 catches for 42 yards and maybe a TD is "beating" a CB than I think that speaks more to the ability of that CB than it does the receiver

I like his talent but might not be a good fit with Geno since his route running is that of a middle school kid playing in the schoolyard

You'd take him over Salas and Owusu. Plus Shaq Evans and Quincy. There is Wr depth but mediocre Wr depth on the Jets. Are those guys better than Stevie?

please... those weird ass 4-5 yard routes he was running lol. only reason he got those off was because he looks so dumb creating routes in his head as he plays Revis may have been confused lmao.

I'd rather have crabtree & put percy in the slot. but if percy won't restructure We'll have to find a speed WR

Regardless if he beat Revis or not that was what 3 or 4 years ago? He's had 3 TD's and less than 500 yards in both of the last 2 seasons. If we were to take a shot on him it would be a camp invite with a chance to make the team. He's not a guy we'd bring in to start so the discussion is kind've pointless.

Mac will draft us a great wideout, that is why he got the job. He will get us a guy in the draft. We dont need to pay for another vet WR. Decker , Kerley and Cooper/White/Parker/DGB/Strong.

he had one excellent game against him. The home game in 2011 we won late. He had Revis beat all day even though the #s were not great. I have never seen anyone have their way w/ Revis like Johnson did that afternoon.

Wideout is an expensive position if you sign a good one in FA. I prefer a high draft pick WR. I would like to see Harvin go and Spiller come in. Sign a mid-level wideout too if you plan to use the spread all day.
