He can tackle, he just overpersues and misses tackles. Seems his coverage skills aren't all there either....

Probably around the same time he learns to cover.

lol its funny how it seems like everyone is blaming the defensive struggle on justin miller.. miller is a good tackling cb .. he has just been missing lately so has vilma, barton, and everyone of our defensive players. why should we label him because of one blatant play he missed. miller has made quite a few highlight tackles in his career has even made jack'd up last year.. this entire defense is struggling at the moment.. and it begins with the Dline not justin miller not vilma..

Hitting hard is not a prerequisite for playing safety. I much rather a safety have a nose for the ball and be a sure tackler than hit hard. Miller likes to go for the big hit too often. He's always throwing his shoulder into the offensive players rarely wrapping up. Sometimes he wins and sometimes he loses. He needs to realize when you wrap up you pretty much always win.

yup, he has had some nice looking hits, which are fun to see

but when you are giving up that many points, it's not worth it

Yeah, Justin's tackling is not my main concern about him now.

Earlier this year, someone posted an article about how Mangini thought he'd develop solid coverage skills as a corner, but he needed to work harder on technique. I'd like to give that another read.

miller had an amazing hit - TFL - on Addai on a key 3rd down. The announcer was like "great trackle by Rhodes".

    But it was Miller.

    JM's in his second year.

Second year CB's don't get beat? They don't struggle?

could that be poe being circled by his ravens? its kind of symbolic of belichik and his many disciples circling around him...on one hand wanting to claw his eyes out, but on the other, they still like to linger around so they may pick up some valuable knowledge.yes? off base? just bustin your balls my friend....no hard feelings

    No hard feelings at all.

And the more I think about it, the more I realize that I am right.

BB was rubbing Mangini's face in the dookie.

BB's use of the 4-3 = The Big Crow Pie.

Im confused.....I agree that he may have been rubbing his nose a little bit...little bit...I was contesting the part when you said he was also teaching him a lesson as if in a positive way because even though he hates mangini he will always be his mentor and master and thus continue to teach him...you did imply that right?

In all fairness, I have been complaining about the JETS defense Tackling as a Whole for a while now, not just Miller.
It was evident in Pre-Season but I figured, eh...Those are the Subs.
    NOPE.

Seems as thought we are going in too high and end up missing or over pursue often.

This isn't a Justin Miller thing, It's a Defensive fundamental thing which we can't seem to grasp.

Seems like every year theres a whipping boy for some of you guys. It's comical.

Justin can tackle, but he's young and he overpursues. And we've seen a couple of real hard licks he gave to receivers (no homo). It's just too bad that sometimes he blew the coverage, which make those hits available

Give him SOME slack...He's 22 years old! He seems to be a slow learner, be patient.

And the more I think about it, the more I stick by my original statement that I do not agree with your assessment.
