Pats accused of deflating balls. Each team chooses 12 balls to use during game, they are inspected pre-game. During game NFL took one of the Pats balls and it was deflated. Now they are investigating it or whatever. I dont care what the final score was, where there's smoke theres fire, this team is constantly doing underhanded things. theyre not dumb, they're very smart, imagine what they're doing that doesnt get caught
an under inflated ball makes a BIG difference. Especially in rainy weather. Easier to throw, catch and hold onto. I fully expect patriot fans to say it doesn't though. The question is whether this is was a conceited effort to gain an advantage or whether it was just a fluke chance that at least one of their balls was under inflated. That's up for debate but were talking about Bill Belichick here...draw your own conclusions. The argument I DON'T like that I am hearing from doofuses in the media is that "they were clearly the better team and why would they NEED the advantage????" (as if that's some reason why they wouldn't seek one?) That is a stupid ass argument because if there is any great equalizer in football it's turnovers. The only chance the Colts had at winning that game was to create some turnovers. In wet weather that chance of turnovers increases. With deflated footballs that are easier to throw, catch and hold onto, it decreases the chance of turnovers. Easy to see why they would want to limit their greatest chance of losing...
Makes you wonder why they chose when they did to bring tampering charges against the Jets..did they know they would get caught here?
The Colts would've gotten their asses whooped regardless of the ball being deflated or not. However we know the Pats like to take every competitive advantage both legal and illegal. So this isn't a shock to me at all.
If this is true they should suspend Belichik for the Super Bowl. At some point enough is enough and a strong position needs to be taken against the organization. Cheating in the AFCCG needs to impact the Super Bowl, not the draft with a loss of picks. Either do something with immediate repercussions or it isn't serious enough of a violation to do anything about.
A slightly deflated ball is def easier to throw and catch in the rain go and try it one day.We use to play in the rain and snow and stuff when i was younger and we would do this .The Patriots will always cheat it wouldn't surprise me if they were spying on people still
Looks like on the Pats forum, they are blaming the refs for allowing it or saying it really isn't an advantage at all.
Without a doubt it's an advantage in the sense that it's easier to grip, catch and hold onto, possibly more difficult to throw. Having said that, the refs gauge the balls multiple times throughout the game and handle the ball on every snap. If there was a significant issue with the ball, the ref should have noticed.
