This is GREAT!! Thank God for Wolfe and Casserly ! They put together a team (Bowles, Mac) that is putting together a beast core at the coaching staff..all without changing our personnel, just our philosophy.
Dunbar coached up beasts when he was with the Vikings. Dunbar is one of the best d-line coaches in this league, and likely a part of developing Wilk, Richardson and Snacks. That said, they should be fine with Bowles and Rodgers, perhaps even better.
You can't leave out the fact that our entire D-line seemed to love him. He had a great relationship with those guys and they were all very vocal about it at one point or the other. Mo even retweeted an article stating why the Jets should keep Dunbar.
True we'll see how that goes, maybe Bowles handles the play-calling. It's important we have a respected coach with a DL background on this staff because we lost two of the great ones in the league. Keeping our "Sons of Anarchy" happy and on the team moving forward should be one our our top priorities. We need to lock up Mo ASAP!
Not really Coples fault. As a UNC alum, who has watched Coples for years, his BEST season at UNC was when he moved inside to DT due to lack of depth. Never should've been considered to stand up.
No I agree with you, just saying Wake/Coples are polar opposites Expecting to turn Coples into Wake is getting your hopes up
Coples showed a lot of talent but wasn't the beast he should have been. Maybe Bowles etc can turn that around and get this guy to play up to his ability. If they can: it's a win-win for us.
If Rex couldn't get Coples to play up to his abilities, I'm not sure Bowles will have much more success.
Coples didn't have a bad year. Also, Coples just may be more suited to play inside. He isn't an ideal OLB. Maybe Bowles realizes that.
Coples isn't a bust. But he's been moved around too much. He's not the type of player who can automatically play out of his natural position.
I don't think Coples had a bad year at all. I always saw him in the backfield making plays. It just feels like he can do so much more with that size he has.
