Yeah I think I was viewing it from Locker's perspective. I see Rex and think ground and pound and see the QBs he has developed, I look elsewhere. For BUF, they see a young QB who had a few injuries that is athletic and can throw the football.
I agree - seems like a really bizzare move to me - to be successful you have to have a good QB and the Bills don't have one and aren't in a position to draft one - it will be just like the last couple of years of the Jets
Has to be fake right? Edit: cot Dammit, why rex why????? I can't root fir him now and seeing him twice a year in bills blue is going to be so disgusting. "Play like a Buffalo." Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
I cant believe that, if he wanted to thumb his nose at the Jets the best thing would have been to go to Atlanta and enjoy great success - what is the saying "the best revenge is living well" - the Bills are perennial strugglers and have no QB - chances are he is going to do as badly there as recent times with the Jets so all that's going to do is reinforce the view that this was a smart move.
perhaps the Falcons didn't want to put the future of their franchise qb in the hands of a bumbling idiot?
I'm not looking forward to actively rooting against Rex, but its not like I'm worried our fanchise has suffered some life-altering existential shift. There's lots of guys that could've coached the Jets up to four wins this season.
Talent for talent right now Buffalo better then the Jets. Plus wouldn't it be sweet in Rex's eyes if he could beat up on Jets and have success in the same division as the Jets. I haven't read anywhere that Atlanta offer him the HC job.
I don't get this notion. The Falcons were 6-10 this year, in the worst division in football, but yet a lot of people feel they are light years ahead of the Bills @ 9-7. The Bills found a way to win 9 games with a QB that wasn't even with the team in TC. Sure, Orton retired and right now, EJ is the guy. My guess is that he will be groomed by sitting on the bench until he earns the right to play. There will probably be a FA pick up/trade or two (Matt Moore and/or Mike Glennon?) to give the position a better chance than they have right now. If 2015 doesn't pan out for QB, expect the Bills to draft one next year. I've seen Rex enough to know his limitations, but I've also seen enough of Marrone to know Rex is the better coach. Will Rex have success in Buffalo? I hope so, but who really knows? I'm just going to let this one pan out.
I don't know if Rex is thinking that way. He certainly did not leave on bad terms, so what is there to get revenge for? If Rex had a choice, I think he would've taken the Falcons, but I think he was desperate to get a job and was fearful that the Falcons job would fall through. When you factor in the money they are talking about, and the fact that it was the only job on the table, the choice was obvious. I think the Bills moved very fast and perhaps they were motivated by wanting to stick it to the Jets in some way, especially if they perceived that there was some tampering with Marrone. Just as a side light, Rex never beat the Ravens and I always felt he coached a little scared against them, so take that for what it's worth.
What happened to the bills fan that had Rex as Jabba and Sanchez as Leia, so fitting now that it has a great chance of happening.
Ironic that the Bills hire Rex today, on January 12th, the 46th anniversary of the Jets only Super Bowl win in franchise history. Rex's dad Buddy invented the 46 defense, and was also the defensive line coach on that Super Bowl winning squad.
