The NFL has bullshit rules for what a catch is. Obviously Dez had it, but the ball did hit the ground. So according to their rules, it was the right call.
I can't believe someone would argue against going for it I believe it was 4th and 2 with about 5 minutes left, at like the GB 35 yard line you're down 5 Should be a no brainer decision. Most 4th and 2s are converted, especially when it's not inside the opponent's 5 (when it becomes more difficult because there's less field to defend).
That is a catch. Dallas got robbed. He had possession... Okay, the ball came loose, but he still ended up with the ball it never hit the ground. That is a football catch, but an incompletion due to weird NFL rules.
I think it was the right call. Quarless seriously has to be kidding me with that false start there, that could be difference between winning while keeping the ball or sweating out a final Dallas drive
I wonder if Green Bay would pass here? Its still like an iffy position because you could leave Dallas with a bout a minute and get a long FG attempt.
Someone's a bit angry? What goes around comes around.. sometimes you get the calls. Sometimes you don't. Deal with it.
The refs always call that incomplete, that's how the game is officiated whether you agree or not. It was consistent with other rulings
What I don't agree with is the fact that that extension is not considered a football move. Durr the ball would have never hit the ground if he just fell with it but he made an extra move in order to score
You can argue about the NFL rulebook if you'd like, but I believe according to the rules in place, the correct decision was made. He didn't maintain possession all the way through. He did catch it initially but that's not enough.
This. If the Packers win, it will be another week long debate just like the Dallas/Detroit play last week, but Yis summed it up perfectly here.
By the rule book I guess that's not a catch if reaching for the EZ is not a football move. By watching football that's a catch
