They wouldn't let FOX get the Sunday late game two weeks in a row. And FOX had to put the Packers on Sunday because of the possibility of Packers-Cowboys, which is a ratings bonanza. Could not afford to risk that matchup on Saturday night. The Seahawks matchup no matter what was never going to be that good because they were going to be such a decisive favorite over any of their possible opponents. I am slightly surprised that CBS valued the Broncos over the Patriots in terms of ratings. They lucked out with Broncos-Colts because of the storyline. Broncos-Bengals would have been a lame matchup for the Sunday late afternoon game.
No I understand that they weren't getting the 4:15 game two weeks in a row. It rotates every year. And I am positive that CBS didn't have control over the game. Keep in mind this is NBC's first year under the new deal, this is their first divisional game. NBC has been picking the wildcard games for years, so I believe they may have gotten to pick the AFC divisional game. Next year they should have the FOX game..... The Sunday games will get the higher ratings so I believe that CBS might have gotten that better game in Luck vs Manning...... But I thought that Packer game was at 4, it wont get as high of a rating at 1 oclock.....but it should still be good and the highest overall, followed by the Denver game.
And the Panthers fans want revenge on the Patriots in the Super Bowl so we have story line developing (still a long way to go though).
Nothing is ever guaranteed. Its like how I argued with all those people about how Carroll is better than Jim Harbaugh....... Well how does that look now, Carroll has a ring, while Harbaugh never got one and may never get one, partially because he wanted control in San Fran, while Carroll does not.
Something definitely clicked with Flacco because those first couple playoff games - he was pretty bad.
I understand that. Earlier you suggested Rex would share info with his old team to help them beat the Pats. I said that Rex probably has no real love for the Ravens organization.
I dont think Rex is butthurt over that though. He stuck with them in 2008, and the Ravens clearly didnt make a bad decision....
I missed the boat on NBC having a game this weekend. That makes sense that they would take the Pats game.
From what I understand they picked 1 wildcard game in the past. So I must assume they got first picks again. But who knows how it works. I gyess next year nbc must take an nfc game.
