Well there is ultimate determinating factor. You don't think he is going to be a good coach. Do you know that Bill Belichick was 42-56 his first six years as a head coach? 13-19 in his first two years with Cleveland. Marrone is 15-17 his first two years with Buffalo. Already ahead of where Belichick was at the same point of coaching experience on a timeline. If you are such a prognosticator, please pass along the winning powerball numbers for tonight. I really could use the money. Thanks.
Nice but do U really think Woody gives a damm about his record when he all his interested in is bringing us a grade D product but charge grade A prices for it
I know he has seen my posts, I don't know whether he still read's my posts, but I know he read one in the past for sure because he actually did a response to it by doing a song in a club somewhere.
Of course he cares. Eventually, a business model like that will die. However, he's lucky that the sports culture, particularly the NFL, has so little supply, so much demand, and people are just downright loyal (like yourself). He cares only because EVENTUALLY it could pose a problem, and his life would actually be a whole lot easier and he wouldn't have to be front and center if we were winning. Really, the cost of delivering a grade A product and a grade D product in the NFL are the same, so if he could give us an A product, I think he would. Hopefully he takes some steps in the right direction. At the same time, this is his shiny toy. If it were mine, I'd be damned if I wanted other people to decide what I did with it!
So by your logic every coach with a .429 win % or better in his first 6 years deserves the benefit of the doubt since he could be the next Bill Belichick? Really? Belichick had been the star DC on multiple championship winners / contenders over an extended period of time. What has doug Marrone ever accomplished of any significance? Go 25-25 at Syracuse? Coach up OL on some mediocre Jet teams? The guy has this permanent facial expression and body language of being a bitter hopeless loser. Google a photo of him vs. one of Todd Bowles and tell me which one you would choose as the face of your franchise. One exudes calm, confidence, and winning. The other is Marrone and projects misery and defeatism. Marrone is supposed to be an offensive minded coach yet the Bills offense sucked last year. With everything on the line, they couldn't outscore the lowly Oakland Raiders. Add in the fact that he drafted EJ Manuel to be his franchise QB. This is the man you want leading the Jets for the next 2 to 4 years?
