    No I'm not.

You're running circles and getting caught doing it. Just say you don't like him and wouldn't want him on the Jets. Don't post bullshit and then get caught with your hand in your ass.

As it turns out, he handled losing better than most of his teammates, at least shaking hands and congratulating Oregon players (including Mariota) after the game, rather than running off the field without the traditional postgame handshake as most of the Seminoles did.

The thing is: we don't know how Winston will act next year or into his career. We can speculate and look into his past and give him personality tests, but we don't know.

I understand the NY media is tough, but Winston seems resilient at the very least. His biggest problem is maturity, but he's always been confident and decently well-spoken with the media.

Hopefully our team does it's due diligence and only picks him if they truly think he will be our franchise Qb.. I hope they only pick him if they are willing to put their careers on the line for such an important pick.

Either way, it'll sure be interesting.

    Okie dokie!

If you can point out when I ever married his comments to the way he played last night then maybe I'll take you seriously. But you can't, so you're gonna end up looking as foolish as you think I do.

Patrick Ewing was a slam-dunk pick on the 1. Then the Knicks predictably tried to turn a Bill Russell prospect into a Wilt Chamberlain prospect. In Bill Russell mode Ewing would have won a ring or two, even with Magic and Jordan in the picture. In Chamberlain mode he was left doing what Chamberlain always did at the end, talking about how the better team lost.

With the new CBA, first round picks don't cost much anymore financially. Thus, they are cheaper and easier to move on from in the event of a bust. So I agree; picking the wrong guy at the 6 is still a huge mistake, but it doesn't sent back a franchise 5 years like it used to. With the immense value of Qbs, I would take a chance on top Qbs in the draft every year until I found the right one.

Great point. Winston one of the only guys on that FSU team to show some class on the field and show real respect by shaking hands with Oregon players yet people want to give him crap for not being the most articulate kid in the presser.

On the football field he's a leader... off the field he has a lot to learn about growing up, but that's life. Roethlisberger, Cam Newton, Brett Favre, other examples of QBs like him at age 20.

Good article and breakdown of both of them. No doubt that both QB's showed a lot of promise last night. That's why I think both will be successful in the pros. I watched the game pretty closely last night. Winston made several shaky throws last night. He had a few throws batted at the line of scrimmage. They were mostly examples of him not making the necessary adjustment to throw around the defender. A few looked like careless reads on his part. It reminded me of Sanchez on some of those throws just in that one aspect of not sliding his feet and throwing around the outstretched defenders.

However, Winston definitely had to improvise more as he was under constant harassment from the Oregon D. That kid Washington on Oregon, the D end, made himself a lot of money off that game last night. He was outstanding.

I really loved Mariota's poise when plays broke down and he had to improvise. That to me is such an underrated skill for NFL QB's. How they react when defenders are zeroing in on them and if they can escape and make a play with his feet or throwing. He showed me a few times last night that he's got top football IQ.

Winston had a good game too but there's a couple instances where I just thought he made bad decisions and lazy throws. Not a big knock on him though, he's still a big time pro prospect.

Here I requoted your statement for you and for reference.
"Did anyone hear what this dipshit Winston said after the game?"

That's a question in relation to what was said. Not how he handled himself.

"Got all snippy that the media needs to realize that FSU beat themselves, Oregon didn't beat them"

Ok, so what is wrong with that comment? You posted after this that this isn't about football. Well, this comment seems to be about football. So you're telling me you're making his comments out to be more than just football? No wait. That doesn't make sense.

And not once did I say you married his comments to the way he played. Not once. I said the comments he made were 100% right in regards to how FSU lost. I even outlined the turnovers that lost them the game.

Again, circles and circles, making yourself look foolish.

Oh and let's just completely overlook the Oregon players doing the tomahawk chant using the words "no means no!" instead of the usual chant.

Yeah, Winston is immature and handles losing terribly! He made comments that were true after the game!! What a bastard!

No one is going in circles except you friend. I don't think it could be any more clear that I wasn't talking about his comments being stupid because they aren't factually true, it's the fact that he got snippy with the media as someone who has a background of being immature and making bad decisions off the field.why would I keep going on anon about all of the red flags if what I was actually talking about was football? Use some common sense. Don't be another Jameis Winston.

You are so unbelievably butthurt that it's actually funny. I picture you sweating with veins popping out of your neck every time someone says something bad about the guy because you can't get over how much you love Florida State football.

Edit: before you go any further in making yourself look stupid, you should go see my reply a few posts up in response to Axel. Flat out said that I think Winston has all of the talent needed to be a good NFL quarterback but mentally doesn't have the capacity to do it. But please keep telling me about how this is all because of the way he played.

I don't think any of those players are slated to go within the top six pics of the draft, are they? They're completely irrelevant to the discussion but keep grasping at straws.

TRUTH IN ADVERTISING: In the interest of perspective, please identify the QB you wanted last year as you pick the one you want this year.

Be honest! I preferred Bortles, now probably Mariota.

Looks like hating on Winston is the new coool thing to do, absolutely hate the media for turning this stud into a scapegoat.

As for his "off the field" issues I quite frankly dont give a shit. Hes a 20 yr old starting QB that won a national championship, with a 29-1 record, at a top 10 party school in the country, and hes a lock top 10 pick in the NFL. Of course hes going to have some bad moments that are highlighted by thr fact that he has so many accolades. HES A COLLEGE KID WE ALL DID DUMB SHIT IN COLLEGE!!

I really hope his draft stock falls only for the one reason that I want him to be drafted by the Jets because quite frankly hes better than Mariota. At 20 years old he looks like he can already be a below average QB if he started next year and thats amazing for a kid who should be a junior at college next year.

I just hope that if we snag him we dont throw him into the fire from day 1. Hes way too young, wayyyy too young

Rape is no joke and he was not found guilty. Look at the NFL pre season player on the Hawks who served time in jail despite him not raping the girl. Bitches be crazy.

sure...except he was not found "not guilty"; they declined to prosecute, like a couple of other prominent cases in news recently. 'bitches be crazy...' I mean, have you been watching the news about how the NFL is taking a hard line on domestic and sexual misconduct? Even if you're "ok" with it, would you really want that kind of issue haunting the Jets in the future? I get it, students and athletes do some really wild shit in college. Can they just turn it off after they graduate? oftentimes, not.

Both of those qbs looked nothing at all like a pro ready qbs. They're both long term projects and in Winston's case, I doubt he has the work ethic. THey have bust written all over them, and it would set this franchise back into the stone age if we wasted a 6th round pick on either of them. (we need Peyton Manning, not a less good version of Doug Flutie)

Their footwork is bad, Mariota's passes are innaccurate ducks, Winston zeroes in on a receiver (and isn't that accurate) and makes no reads whatseover. It's just not good at all.

Cooper is the only sure thing, but even there its a bit of a wasted pick b/c we don't have a qb and won't have one for a few more years. Its better to trade down and pick up lots of long term projects/pieces (guards/centers/secondary etc), and to stockpile draft picks and get a new qb the following draft.

I agree with what you said except for the Cooper is a sure thing.
Just like ODB and others will turn out better thena Sammy Watkins.
There will be a few WRs better than Cooper in this years draft.

Cooper is the most overrated guy on these in a long time.
There are 3 OTs and a couple of OLBs that the Jets would be better served drafting then him.
