He's actually been a HC for the last half decade and left his last two jobs on his own terms after his teams had better success than expected.

Belichik got fired in Cleveland and couldn't find another HC position until Parcells helped him rehabilitate his image. People still thought he was a potential disaster in New England after 2000 with the 5-11 record. He got bailed out big time by the Bledsoe injury when Brady turned unto Brady.

Yep, dipshit fans really hurt an organization. The Raiders have had trouble attracting top talent in the FO and coaching staff at least partly because their fans suck so badly.

Maccagnan and Mueller have both been linked to Marrone. This could go over very quickly at this point which would be a good thing in my opinion.

I think I prefer Kirchner and Quinn at this point. Just from my superficial knowledge and feel for things.

That's another way this could go over quickly.

If that's true then hiring Marrone first wouldn't be such a bad idea then.

I tend to agree. This would at least make me feel like we aren't being reactionary....which I worry about with the Marrone stuff.

I don't really want this to be done quickly unless they get blown away in an interview, slow and steady wins the race so vet all the candidates thoroughly, get the best football man for the job and get out of his way.

Woody is moving fast! Just hope he doesn't rush his decision because of a certain coach.

I think it's because he has a draft to get ready for, and with wolf and Casserly guiding him, he has better feedback on the candidates.

Woody rushing to interview Maronne reminds me of the story of Leon Hess turning on the TV and seeing that Rich Kottite was just fired by the Eagles after losing 7 games in a row and he raced to his people and made it seem like Vince Lombardi was available,So Pete Carol was Fired and goes on to win a Superbowl 20 years later. This orginization has a history of failure attached to it that will never go away

Sure as hell seems that way. It smells like it was a one coach/one GM only they were targeting hence no qualms about letting both Idzik and Rex go so fast.

I'm fine with either combo of Marrone and Maccagnan/Mueller or Quinn/Kirschner.

I'm starting to prefer the Quinn/Kirschner duo over Marrone/Mueller.

But as long as there's some fuckin cohesion within the organization I'll be happy.

Maybe it is feeding into why I would prefer Quinn/Kirchner. The Marrone/Mccagnan/Mueller/Casserly thing makes me a little nervous. Maybe fucking Mehta is getting to me. But the Seattle guys seem to have good resumes, and don't come with any weird baggage that I know of.
