Thats not how you operate though. you hope for the best. It's not coddling him, he was benched this season. I can't fault anyone for not taking a shot at someone playing for the same uniform
I just watched it two times. He comes off as a nice guy but makes it clear he makes the final decision. As for Revis he admitted Idzik made a good trade and also stated based on previous bad experiences with Revis's agents that it would have been tough to sign him. He stated that if he could have gotten the same deal for Revis that Kraft got he'd have probably signed him, too. He was never emphatic about anything, he was kind of off the cuff about everything.
C'mon man! You have to make them burn their timeouts there. Run down the clock, try to score a TD, but settle for the FG if you can. Going in up 24-3 is a lot better than going in up 21-10.
The funnest part of the PC was this line, "We’re in the win business,” Woody Johnson said." That right Woody? Well you better make due now. I remember him saying this particular quote differently back when we got Tebow.
I have to disagree. It's situational. Playing for a FG in the middle of the 3rd quarter is pussy ball if that's what you're playing for. But with under 2 minutes left in the half, and you're on the other team's 20, you force them to burn timeouts so if you DO score and give the ball back, you dont leave them a way to stop the clock. Leaving them with all their timeouts and not even running the ball to keep the clock moving was dopey.
It's not JUST running the ball, it's the running the ball doesn't stop the clock like an incompletion would have. THe play there was to kill the clock, burn their timeouts, and score SOMETHING, ANYTHING heading into the half where we were getting the ball.
Being situational also means keeping in mind that Geno Smith is your QB, so maybe it's not the BEST idea to go chucking the ball up. Also as you mentioned, we also should have ran down more clock, because you KNOW Rodgers is gonna get some points before the half if you leave him even a little time.
Well, as I listen to Sirius Sports radio, this guy Grasso, I believe, on mad dog radio ranted for ten minutes on how inappropriate it was for Woody to wear his white hat at the press conference. No real feedback, or substantial input. If that is the best reporting and insight these clowns can provide, Geez, no wonder not too many people want to even consider coming to NY. Between the disgraceful media and a few of the worst fans on earth it appear to be the place to avoid unless you want to be insulted or ridiculed.
How many times do you have a first and 10 deep inside an opponents territory and play for a FG. ... You guys are baffling. Terrible MMQB's. If we score a TD there and go up 28 - 9 with less than 2 mins left, there's none of you that would have complained.
I wouldn't have been upset if we ran there, but throwing there isn't the worst thing in the world like most you have been acting like. If we score and go up 28-9 with 1:45 left you all would have been celebrating. It would have been demoralizing to the Packers. We would have been rolling. GB only hit their stride because we threw an INT and gave them the momentum. I support that Play call 100%. You want to be aggressive and put the dagger in them.
