Excerped from Newark Star Ledger, Oct. 10, article by Dave Hutchinson:

"Rookie LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson, who is listed at 312 pounds, is losing weight over the grind of the season and the Jets are becoming increasingly concerned, a team official said. During the off-season, the club plans to put him on a program to bulk him up for next season...."

Pssh. Dunkin Donuts is too healthy. That boy needs some Krispy Kremes.

Edit: Damnit, what a shitty way to waste a 1000th post. Damn you and your donut talk!

$500 gift certificate to Pizza Hut would probably solve this problem. Mangini just better make sure that someone else drives him right up to the door, even if it is right across the street.

Wonder if there is such a thing as trans-lypo. Mangini could infuse Brick with some pounds.

this shouldnt be a surprise. i didnt want to draft him at first due to the fact he bulked up in the combine. in other posts I said he wont maintain his draft weight. hes just doing light running and living in the weight room so hes going to blow up. but when he gets back into the daily grind of practice and gameday he'll lose weight.

now im not trying to be negative or sound like "OH I SAW THIS COMING" but its something I was worried about before the draft. which is why i was leaning towards taking a skill position player then getting mangold and another OL.

im glad we drafted him though. but he needs to get some fat on him as stupid as that might sound. hes basically the most muscular TE in the league as far as build goes. and im not talking about him blowing up but hes already chiseled and i dont see his muscle mass getting any higher since he entered college at like 245 and managed to float in the 295-305 range of pure muscle.

if hes just as strong as he would be at 320, i dont have a problem with it. hell it might make him a little quicker.

im guessing hes barely over 300, barely. the objective should be to get him to 320 without him losing a step. hes quick enough.

and with his run blocking he cant afford to lose weight.

im not trying to sound like a darksider. but he definitely needs to gain weight. thats just my opinion

I don't think his run blocking is all that bad. He's been playing really well for a rook and once he gets some pounds put on he'll be better. This is nothing to get overly excited about.
