I am going to list each Head Coach candidate that the Jets have requested permission to talk to. Dan Quinn - DC - Seattle Seahawks Todd Bowles - DC - Arizona Cardinals Tom Cable - Asst - Seattle Seahawks Gary Kubiak - OC - Baltimore Ravens Frank Reich - OC - San Diego Chargers Anthony Lynn - Asst HC / RBs Coach - NY Jets Doug Marrone - HC - Buffalo Bills Jim Mora Jr - HC - UCLA Sean McDermott - DC - Carolina Panthers
Jets have reached out to Quinn, Defensive Coordinator from Seattle. He coached the defensive line here in 2007-2008 and his agent is Tanny. Seems like he'd be a very good hire. Thoughts? http://mmqb.si.com/2014/08/06/dan-quinn-seattle-seahawks/
Well the two top candidates are both Defensive Coordinators. Seems teams are going crazy over Quinn and Bowles.
Great hire if he brings Wagner, Wright, Sherman, Chancellor and Thomas with him. To fire Rex only to hire a defensive coordinator would be too dumb to comprehend.
I don't think that's gonna happen. There's too many teams right now that need a head coach. If you don't make a move on a head coach now, you'll miss out on every candidate.
Dan Quinn is going to be a great head coach. And I don't subscribe to the notion, that we need to hire an offensive minded head coach. Most of these offensive minded hed cosches, are young coaches(young coaches tend to fail ), and they all benefit from great QB play. Quinn is strict, has developed talent, and is a fiery leader. If we can't land Hue Jackson, he's the guy I want coaching this team next season and I honestly don't see a better, more realistic option on the market.
no more rookie head coaches learning on the job with the jets. Time for a real head coach who understands you need to score in this league and that your offense and defense need to work together.
Isn't there a rule where you have to interview two candidates for the head coaching job?or is that the gm job rule?
NFL executives were calling Quinn a future head coach when he was the DC at the University of Florida. He's going to be great.
The Rooney rule states, that a team must interview at least one minority candidate for head coaching and front office jobs.
