Very honest and refreshing PC from woody. Sounds like he is all in and the rumors of him wanting to save cap money is BS.
Yes. Geno was throwing the ball well up to that point in the game. You don't be a pussy and settle for 3-pts, you go for the kill and a TD pass there would have put the dagger into the Packers.
Well done Woody, straight forward and honest. You also hit the mark by recognizing that the vocal ass hole fan base is not the majority, and no leadership action should result from their whining. However, we need a top GM first and foremost, and let him pick the HC and the rest of the team. Please let I be a good one.
why not also throw in there the ability to teach the players a second language, bake a cake, fix a car, ride a unicycle and build a helicopter out of lego that really flies!
He is the one who answered the question that way not me. I think he realizes what he needs his HC to do and he realized that Rex did not fit the bill. I actually enjoyed the PC, what about you?
Usually agree with you but not this time--Firstly, must run down the clock and keep the ball out of Rogers hands. We had huge MO. It's very interesting that Woody has kept that sequence as a defining moment. You're right that Winters missed the block--yet Sudfeld appeared either entirely disinterested in the ball trajectory or totally cognitively overwhelmed. I still hate the motherfukker because of that play although I will admit he is playing solid on special teams by the end of the season.
I just meant that he is asking an awful lot of the prospective HC - I am sure every team wants a HC that can do everything but every HC pretty much has things they are good at and things that they are not so good at - saying that he is looking for a HC that is great at everything is of course fine - going out and finding this miraculous beast is going to be quite another. I didn't see the PC - will probably watch it later.
So he mentioned acquiring Revis while he's under contract, is that tampering? And what is the penalty?
saying or inferring that HE will hire the hc with input from the gm is retarded. having folks come out of it thinking he MAY hire the hc before hte gm is retarded. it really doesnt often work. the hc should be hired by the gm and there needs to be levels, owner, gm, hc, acs..... to have the hc going straight to the owner who is a bonafide buffoon is not the way to run things and ANYONE worth their salt will not come in and have it that way. .they will go elsewhere and make their mark the way THEY want to do it. absolute idiocy, woody johnson is the biggest problem the jets face at this point.
Of course it was. Teams have to spend 89% over any 4 year period so you can't be cheap. You have to spend now.
Does anyone have a link to the press conference in full? Got a lot of time to kill and I kinda want to watch it.
