the point isn't that we lost the game because of the Refs (in fact, we didn't. we lost the game because we played like sh*t); rather, those were WRONG calls. they may not have greatly affected this game's outcome, but what will happen when it costs a team the game in the Playoffs? if this continues, the League will have some serious problems that'll need to be addressed (one solution may be to make these calls Challengable, as the Barton call would certainly have been reversed after further review).

one more thing: since the Colts can whine to the League about anything, would it make a difference if the Jets complained about these calls? not for the sake of this game - we would have lost no matter what - but to make sure that this QB protection doesn't get any more out of hand than it already has.

    cheers

Everyone on ESPN disagrees with you, and they ALL notoriously hate the Jets. The Vilma hit was 100% clean, and would never have been called had it been a sack, making the landing on top of the QB with his full weight utter nonsense. I have NEVER seen that call before.

I've seen the call before, but Vilma did not actually land with all his weight on the QB. His side actually landed on the ground. It was a total bullshit call and a complete overreaction by the ref and I really hope the league addresses this nonsense.

The call is basically to prevent double-leg takedowns with the tackler also jumping off the ground and driving his shoulder into the QB's chest as he lands on top of him....

I didn't like the inconsistency. Rhodes or Coleman I can't remember, hit Leftwhich the same exact way as Vilma and no call. Which means only one thing, THEY SUCK! : )

Calls Always Go To The Home Team. Just Like The Call We Got Agains The Colts On The Throw To Reggie Wayne. Imagine If They Called Pass Interference There, We Might Of Lost To The Colts. Also Remeber The Almost Interception By Polomolu Last Year In The Playoffs Against The Colts. That Would Have Sealed It For The Steelers. Its A Good Thing The Officials Got The Call Right. And By The Way No One Has An Agenda. It's Not Like The Nfl Wants Its Poster Boy To Make It To The Superbowl Peyton Mannig
