The question should have been who will the HC be if Idzik is fired too. If dipshit Idzik is still here it will be the OC or DC from Seattle. Yet after this season who would really feel either is a great choice.
Harbaugh is my number 1. In the likely event we do not get him the following coaches are my top choices: Art Briles Gus Malzahn Kevin Sumlin Matt Patricia <--- Yes, I know it's unlikely that a Patriots assistant would come here Todd Bowles I would prefer to have a coach with Head Coaching experience. I don't want to see another coach learn on the job. That being said, I think Patricia and Bowles would be good choices for 1st time HC's.
If the Giants drop him, Tom Coughlin. And bring in McAdoo as OC as well. Coughlin would bring much needed discipline to this soft bunch, and it would be great hearing that fat punk on the radio kiss his ass each week.
What do you think coaches do?throw there players on the floor and whip there bare asses with belts?Lol discipline these are grown men enough with that garbage.Guys making mental errors during games has zero to do with "discipline".Those type of coaches aren't well liked and guys hate playing for them ,that style of coaching doesn't exist in the NFL anymore Coughlin changed the way he does things along time ago.Grown men don't like being treated like kids
All I want is a coach and GM combo that have the same goals and vision for this team. Obviously, the GM is going to hire someone he can work with and someone he trusts. Since we don't know who our GM is going to be, its difficult to tell who would fit. But looking at this in a vacuum, these would be the guys I'd like to interview. In no particular order. Todd Haley Jim Tomsula Pep Hamilton Josh McDaniels Dan Quinn Brian Kelly Harbaugh, would by my first choice, followed by Gruden. However, I doubt either of them would be available. Although if Im Woody, I hand Harbaugh and his wife a blank check and ask him, who do you want as your GM.
Stop being silly. Your saying that NFL coaches don't use discipline as a motivator? Jonas Grey was on the cover of Sports Illustrated after a 4 TD game but overslept and was late to practice. Belichick benched him and he didn't get more than a few carries for 4 games and only when Blunt got injured. You think that sent a message to the Patriots? Discipline is not demeaning players or physical abuse. Its holding professional players to a high standard and having the strength to sit a player if they dont hold that same high standard. The Jets get clobbered 31-0 by the Chargers, and afterwards we find out the QB missed walkthroughs because he was watching a movie. His backup threw for 47 yards in that game and afterwards admitted he really didn't take the time to grasp the playbook. If the coach wins Super Bowls the players will like that coach just fine even if he is a taskmaster. It doesn't mean he needs to be an a-hole.
Jim Harbaugh or Gus Malzan would be my picks. Don't really care for Dan Quinn or Darrel Bevel. Honestly if we can't land a proven offensive guru Id roll with Rex one more year...... Glad the Fins are keeping Philbum another year and won't get Harbaugh.
Greatest? In what way exactly? I'd agree that it would be the biggest cluster fuck in the history of the franchise, and the stupidest move by an owner in NFL history, but in no other way would it be great. Rex Ryan is a moron, and would only be surpassed if Woody made that move.
Not sure on how true this is but i heard on WFAN that Harbaugh want to take Kaep with him where ever he goes.
Maybe he means my neighborhood in Vegas, my house is in Summerlin. Maybe he wants us to hire the entire population of Summerlin to coach the Jets.
That won't happen if he goes to Oakland or Michigan (obviously), and if true I don't want Harbaugh coaching the Jets anymore.
I wouldn't really mind many of the names on these lists, but it's surprising to see how few times Darrell Bevell's name has come up. While not flashy, his offense has been relatively effective in both Minn and Seattle -- two teams with strong defenses. Given how the Jets have been built, it's not hard to see Bevell's offense finding a place here.
Why is that? Obviously Pittsburgh (a well run organization) thinks highly enough of him. He's been a good offensive coordinator for Arizona and Pittsburgh. Are we not looking for an offensive mind to bring our offense out of the dark ages? I'll agree that his first HC stint in Kansas City wasn't a success, but it's possible that since then, he's learned from his mistakes, gained experience working under a good coach (Tomlin) and is ready for another shot.
Hue Jackson. He called an excellent game yesterday, and he has done a very good job with the Bengals offense this season, in my opinion. If not Hue Jackson, I wouldn't mind Dan QUINN or Gus Malzahn(although he is unlikely ).
Yeah bringing back Rex would be the biggest cluster fuck in the history of the franchise? You're a joke and the Rex hate is out of control. This franchise has done 100s of things over the years that would qualify as stupider. One of the smarter things we've ever done was hire him in the first place. Everyone has a right to want change after 4 seasons without the playoffs, but to bitch on a message board then personally bash Rex when anyone disagrees with your opinion is getting annoying.
