Strangely enough, Raiders probably just screwed us over with their win

The similarities of Jamarcus and Jameis, a soliloquy by ChadChrebet:

    Jamarcus 6'5 260 Jaemis 6'4 240
Jamarcus compared to John Elway -Mel Kiper, Jameis Winston -Ben Roethlisberger - Shaun King
Jamarcus "When he sits back and scans the field, he can pick apart the zones … Makes right decisions on long throws,as outstanding arm strength and size for his position … Shows good overall foot quickness and agility to step out of the pocket and buy time for his receivers ,

Jaemis - "Physically, he has great size — 6-4, very sturdy build. Built like a pro prospect. Big-time arm — can make all the throws. Great intangibles. Winner. Big-time, big-platform résumé"

my point: Same experts thought the same about Jamarcus as they did about winston.

Again, good job, you have successfully shown Kiper doesn't know shit. That's not the discussion. I am asking what you know about Winston and Russell based on having watched them play, not Kiper's nonsense.

So you are taking physical measurables and what puffery Mel Kiper said about his game after he watched a few of his game tapes and you conclude they are the same guy?

    Are you joking?

Think back to when Russell played and to what people were saying about him BACK then and to what Winston is doing now and what people are saying about HIM now as a player and can you honestly say they are the same guy?

    Lol.

Not the same guy, never were the same guy. It's funny how folks pick a bust out of the past and say JaMarcus=Winston.

    And Leaf=Mariota.

Havent read this thread but someone probably adressed this, the Raiders could trade their pick to another team so while they might not need a QB, they can get a kings ransome from another team like the Philadelphia Eagles who are rumored to be prepared to move up for Mariotta.

Yes, I can say they said the same exact things. "They both love the game, they both played QB since they were 6, they both have big strong arms that can make all the throws, they both have exceptional talent & ability, both are physically gifted"

I so wish we took him. With the defense and running game we had, Marino would CERTAINLY given us a SB........ UGH>

Petty looks great, but his accuracy issues are a big concern.

Agreed, but he throws the ball down the field a lot too, and hits his 2nd and 3rd read when its not there, which is what I like best about him. Connor Cook would be my first choice, but he hasn't declared.

Russell was a lazy QB with horrible mechanics who threw off his back foot relying on his rocket arm and physical strength.

What a coincidence that he was lazy in the pros with bad mechanics; difference is you can get away with that in college where there is a huge disparity of talent between many teams. That's why Russell failed and there is no evidence that should be a concern that Winston is similar.

Why not go all the way and say they are the same because they are both black. There is no reason to stop short of that asinine position considering how much you are trying to claim they are the same just because of their other physical similarities.

Yup, yet folks will still say he and Winston are the same guy.

    Silly.

I don't agree with the Russel / Winston compairison at all... Russel didn't have nearly the resume Winston has... Russel only got taken #1 because Al Davis was nuts and had the best pro day in the history of pro days... Winston if he wins the championship could go down as the best collegiate QB of ALL TIME!!! Don't get me wrong though I feel Winston is a big risk because he is a douch bag but when it comes down to a comparison to Russel it's not even close.

Russell was the man because he could sling a football like 60 yards sitting down lol

That's more than anyone has ever said anything about Wilson, right?

I mean other than winning every game he has ever played, winning the Heisman as a freshman, winning the National Championship as a freshman, playing for a National Championship as a sophomore.

    That was Russell's resume, right?
